Ayessa Kroan
Stay A Little Longer
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Following a stayover on Nar Shaddaa whilst on route to meet with Rook’s boss Vinon, Ayessa left Rook to his devices to follow what she believed to be a feeling in the Force. It was during this excursion the soft-hearted Jedi found a Pantoran droid merchant preparing to scrap an old R2 unit. Taken in by the nostalgia of the model and the rather extreme language the droid was using with the seller, she dropped a fair amount of credits to save him from the furnace and took him back to their ship, content at having performed a relative act of good. En route to returning to the ship Ayessa felt another tremor in the Force that she had to chase, this time concerning her companion, who landed himself in a spot of trouble with assassins due to a previous job. The three would have little time to become acquainted as they raced through Nar Shaddaa backstreets to avoid being shot. Still, she managed to learn a fair bit about her new friend -- Mainly that he has a database of slicing intelligence that could help him with ‘forceful’ entry.
It’s not entirely clear who exactly manufactured R2-C4, though it was probably Industrial Automaton who own the patents & schematics for Astromech units like him, though why they would fall back on an old design is unknown.
- Intent: To sub for Ayessa’s (And [member="Rook Lokar"]’s) relatively faithful astromech companion and staunch member of their crew.

- Role: Somewhere between a crew member, a personal assistant and a flight attendant, Cee-Four’s main role is assisting with ship functions and providing witty banter.
- Links: Lacuna (‘Purchasing’ Thread)
- Age: R2-C4 is around 30 years old, based on Clone Wars-era design. He’s regarded as being out of date by most standards, which only adds to his ‘charm’.
- Model: R2 Series
- Appearance: Resembling a Halloween decoration in colour scheme and an oversized pill bottle with wheels in physicality, Cee-Four is your standard R2 unit. Dome top, a cylinder body, flashy blinky lights and all. He also bears a scorch mark across his front from a stray blaster bolt that has yet to be repaired.
- Name: R2-C4, ‘Cee-Four’, ‘The Breacher’, ‘Destroyer of Databases’
- Loyalties:
Begrudgingly,Cee-Four is loyal to his crewmates, Ayessa Kroan & Rook Lokar; the former saved him from being scrapped on Nar Shaddaa and the latter dragged him through the streets of it to avoid trained killers. Rook also used him as bait for Trandoshans and generally mistreats him, so he tends to stick with Ayessa more often than not. - Notable Possessions: R2 units don’t have much storage capabilities on their own, but a notable possession of C4’s is a databank of slicing data stored in his personality core. Point him at a relatively-undefended, not-military-grade computer terminal and he could get you in faster than most other R2 units. Well, at least, a lot more illegally.
- Personality: To say that Cee-Four is a grumpy old droid is a bit of an understatement. Like other droids who don’t get wiped often-- He was spared by previous owners due to the value of his slicing information, which is stored in his personality core due to hardware limitations --He’s developed a bit of a mind of his own, and isn’t afraid to squawk profanity when the situation calls for it. But he was programmed initially to offer snappy comebacks, so, that’s probably where that comes from.
- Combat Function: Unless you’re fighting dead pigeons, Cee-Four has little to no combat function. Sure, R2 units possess saws and arc welders, but it’s a bit difficult to fight and then kill someone with one of those with any degree of effectiveness. Add onto that that Cee-Four is an older model so he’s slow & janky, and a bit of a coward, ever since he got shot on Nar Shaddaa he just prefers to stay behind on the ship in order to be ‘logistics’ (Whatever that means).
