Strengths:
Simple and Effective: Like its sibling the R-1, the AR-1 is built from a simple no-nonsense design that allows troops in the field to easily train and fight with as well as maintain the weapon on operations. There is very little complex mechanics behind the weapon meaning that broken or damaged parts can be easily replaced. A rugged and soldier-proof design.
Weaknesses:
Inaccurate: The AR-1 is not designed to be a precise weapon but instead one that aids in the movement of friendly troops. The main objective of the gunner is to create an almost literal wall of blaster bolts to pin the enemy down. As such the designers didn't factor in the need for pin-point accuracy. This point diminishes against clustered or close targets but it is more effectively employed as a base of fire weapon than a surgical sniping tool.
Description: Aliit Rikat warriors and commanders enjoy controlling the tempo of a battle. As such they required a light, rapid-fire base support weapon that provides both the rate of fire and the light frame needed to fight on the move. A weapon that could take the abuse of various climates and atmospheres but still be simple enough not to bog down troops with unneeded logistics. While Rikat warriors enough the heavy ripper repeater the need to lug both a heavy weapon and rounds threatens their ability to move swiftly.
The RA AR-1 "Buurenaar" is the answer and starting point for future light support weapons for fast moving soldiers.
