Strengths:
Simple and Effective: Nothing is complicated about the R-1 in its maintenance and functionality. A simple and rugged weapon designed to be soldier proof from the daily abuse and wear that weapons often come under in theatre. It's designed to work with little in the way of internal components as possible so the user can easily maintain it in the field as well as they do on base. Experienced warriors and simple farmers will find it easy to bring to bear.
Rain or Shine: On Hoth, Tatooine or Dxun this rifle will operate at peak effectiveness. Environmental concerns often don't phase R-1 operators thanks to its simple, rugged design.
Weaknesses:
No Mods: Apart from the ability to mount holographic or telescopic scopes there is no actual way to modify the weapon's under-barrel attachments or swap out any key components for modification or improvement.
Description: When starting out their commercial venture into the arms industry the Technical Warriors of Rikat wanted to develop a weapon for their front-line kinsman that was both soldier-proof and effective. They settled on the R-1 design which is compact enough to be used by drop-pod deployed troops, vehicle crews and infantry. It is a cheap weapon to produce and replace if need be and while the R series may develop further it was agreed that simple is best for now.
A light, compact and accurate blaster rifle that can go whereever the warriors takes it the R-1 is able to keep up with the changing battlefields of the galaxy. The power cell and gas canister along with the firing chamber are secured in the stock of the weapon to reduce the overall size of the rifle. Apart from the stun setting and underslung grenade launcher there is very little in the way of special features. It is very much a simple, effective and easy to produce blaster rifle that may serve as a template for more advanced and modular models.
