Personality: Rafiki is known for being reckless, irritable, and often times brutish with a strong dislike for losing. Very few are able to get close enough to see the good-heart beneath his coarse fur, keeping others at a distance through grunts and growls as a means of intimidation.

Combat Function: Rafiki is a very skilled and capable warrior, having been trained as a pit fighter since he was very young and working as a mercenary afterward. He is proficient with various types of weapons and combat, though sticks to his preferences of using his bowcaster or duking it out in hand-to-hand combat when he has to. If going up hand-to-hand, his immense strength can give him a large advantage over almost any opponent, but quicker opponents can get an edge over him through precision based attacks.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Rafiki came from very low beginnings, born and raised in slavery on a backwater world in the outer rim. He has never seen the ancient forests of his homeworld Kashyyyk.
Since the time he could remember, he and his two older brothers were trained as pit fighters and forced to work in the slavers arena, witnessing a tremendous amount of violence and having his first match when he was barely sixteen.
Over the span of the five years since his first match, he lost both of his brothers. One died from malnutrition, and the other was eaten by a Ralltiir tiger. It wasn’t until he was much older that he was able to escape his captors, carrying many scars from his experience, both physical and psychological.
After escaping, Rafiki tried hard to leave behind the troubles of his youth but discovered that leaving the rough-and-tumble life was not as easy as it seemed. Instead, the Wookiee wound up building a vast criminal record for himself as a mercenary and picked up more than a few bad habits along the way, including an unhealthy addiction for the gambling tables and ryll.
It’s likely that his lifestyle and fly-off-the-handle-temper is the culprit of what lead up to his imprisonment on board the First Order ISD where Damon Riggs found him and helped him break free.
Grateful for Damon’s intervention, Rafiki proclaimed a life debt to the smuggler and now travels alongside Riggs and Teyla as a member of the crew on the Inquisitor’s Revenge.
