STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES: Rahn considers himself a sophisticated Neimodian, but not even his indomitable will and ambition can free him from biological history. Desires for physical wealth and personal status are hardwired into a Neimodian's biology. He has a predisposition towards greed, though more often than not he utilizes it for the benefit of the CSA. Rahn is risk-averse, so much so that ignoramuses would call him cowardly, however he just has a sense of self worth.
Rahn takes anti-anxiety drugs, purportedly because it helps him remain calm in order to prevent the embarrassing pink flushing of skin that comes when his species becomes stressed or scared. However he may secretly have a recreational fondness and may be able to be exploited.
Born into the hyper competitive world of Cato Neimodia he has had to connive, scheme, collaborate, and rise above the other grubs and through the ranks of Neimoidian society. He was the greediest Neimoidian he knew and it was a burning desire for wealth and prestige that gave him the singular focus to succeed at his mission and supersede his peers.
Rahn Haaku is known for his skill and knowledge of intergalactic trade laws/policies. He runs his office with an efficiency not seen in other parts of the CSA government and his species' inability to grasp concepts of morality, made him an expert negotiator with the Sith and more malevolent galactic powers. He was an unstoppable pragmatist in pursuing the CSA's diplomatic goals and improving his rank.
APPEARANCE: Because of their obsession with status, the Neimoidians placed great importance in clothing. Among their kind, elaborate clothes were specifically designed to assert an individual's personal wealth and rank and also to instill jealousy or envy in others. Not only did their robes, cloaks, hats and collars all have particular symbolic meanings, but so did their fabrics and colors.
Rahn wears red and gold robes, denoting a high status among Nemoidians. His large two horned hat symbolizes his role as ambassador and trade negotiator. To those aware of the cost and quality of the fabrics, such as other Neimoidians, they would know that Rahn possessed immense wealth and status and was to be respected, if not venerated.
BIOGRAPHY: Rahn, like all Neimoidians was born ignominiously as a grub in a hive. Neimoidian larva were intentionally starved in order to weed out the weak and encourage greed and a covetous mentality. Fortunately for Rahn, he took to this culture with gusto and became the largest and most well fed grub in his hatchery. This earned him the best spots in Neimodian education plans where he continued to hone his skills in manipulation, deceit and scheming. He pursued intergalactic trade law and became passionately enthused about exploiting tedious laws and complex trade negotiations in a way that only a Neimoidian could.
He developed a reputation as a shrewd and aggressive negotiator who used legal loopholes with brutal efficiency to maximize employer profits. However, as a rising star on Cato Neimoidia he was seen by many older Neimoidians as a threat to their prestige. He earned enemies and was too young and inexperienced to avoid their schemes. As Cato Neimoidia was a member of the Commenor Systems Alliance, they conspired to force him into service of the government. Utilizing their political connections, they ensured that Rahn would be drawn into the interplanetary bureacracy where they hoped he would rot.
While he initially chafed at his work within the C.S.A.'s ministry fo foreign affairs, he eventually learned that those skilled enough at wielding the bureaucracy could become formidable. Wealth was one thing, but the inter-planetary government was the true power in this part of space.
Rahn served the ministry of foreign affairs with cold, efficient zeal. He earned commendations, promotions and prestige until he rose to the rank of Deputy Foreign Minister. He also accumulated a fair amount of wealth from lucrative personal dealings.
He is actively trying to become Minister of Foreign Affairs.
SHIP: "The Jaded Flame", a heavily modified Consular c70 retrofit. Rahn utilizes it on diplomatic missions. Its interior is incredibly opulent, a vain display of Rahn's wealth and status. However it has been known to shock and surprise his guests, and his personal collection of rare paintings are the envy of other diplomats and galactic leaders.
The ship's exterior is painted in a beautiful metallic green.
