Raids/invasions

Invasions, in general, have grown a bit stale. For the One Sith, they've been doing invasions constantly for over a year. For those of us that were a part of that but have since moved around to enjoy other facets of the site, we still feel the burn of that.

Truth be told, I think the engagement needs more spontaneity and less "3 week negotiation for invasions, just the right amount of time for hype to die down." A fatal flaw, I suspect of Lujo, was the time between announcement and when it started. I was speaking to [member="Darth Vornskr"] about this a week or so ago (maybe more), and the concept of strategic and meaningful skirmishes that bleed over into dominions would be a really interesting way to shake things up. Give people the opportunity to engage one another without worrying about this map game, everyone wins and plays nice and all that jazz.

For instance: we initiate a skirmish over Belgaroth and once that is concluded, the ripple effect is us dominioning Yn or Fenessa with the OS nipping at our heels, attempting to prevent the push. Then they push for Aruza, where we just so happen to be cruising around. We use this dominion as a method of establishing a next point of contact for a skirmish with minimal deployment of recon forces. So on and so forth. Everyone gets engaged, we get stories going, and the map game turns into a win-win or whatever.

Realize this might not be the topic for this. So if it needs to be moved, I can do that. I've been out in the sun all day, I can't be blamed.

[member="Gabriel Sionoma"] my main was Darth Banshee I know how many invasions they been in, I was there as a player form the start. Also all topics are allowed to go off in a tangent, to some degree.
