PRODUCTION INFORMATION
Manufacturer: Visanj T’shkali
Affiliation: Closed-Market
Model: Raijin Bolt Caster
Modularity: No
Production: Mass-Production
Material(s): Dallorian Alloy, Reinforced Duraplast, various electronics

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Classification: Plasma Disruptor Rifle
Size: Average
Weight: Average
Ammunition Type: Electromagnetic Plasma Cell (EPC)
Ammunition Capacity: 200 Rounds (100 Rounds when set to medium power; 40 Rounds when set to maximum charge)
Reload Speed: Average
Effective Range: Average
Rate of Fire: Low
Stopping Power: Very High
Recoil: High

SPECIAL FEATURES:
  • Variable power setting (Base, Medium, and Maximum) could be used with standard EPC magazine, though higher settings resulted in lowered ammunition capacity and the EPC becoming exhausted faster.
  • Capable of being charged to deliver a powerful blast which created a chain effect, delivering electrical shocks from one droid or electronic system to another. This enabled a single shot to effectively disable several droids or enemy systems at once.
  • A direct hit against a vehicle or even a starfighter with a maximum-power shot could create a cascade effect, able to entirely disable the vehicle or fighter.
  • Devastatingly effective against organic lifeforms, though less effective against droids and cyborgs unless set to medium or maximum power settings.
  • Able to easily overpower security locks, blast doors, internal security turrets, and various shields and force fields, it is an excellent breaching weapon.
  • Optic can be linked to several types of targeting technology, both via hard cable or wireless connection, to help improve accuracy.
STRENGTHS:
  • Stunningly effective against organic targets, a single direct hit can be lethal or – in the least – causes excessive damage to the target.
  • When charged to maximum settings, it can be capable of neutralizing several droids or enemy systems with a single shot.
  • Can be capable of disabling a vehicle or starfighter with a single, well-placed shot, causing cascading systems failures.
  • An effective breaching weapon, it can easily disable blast doors, security locks, and even disable shields and force fields, overpowering those systems and forcing them to shut down.
  • Can fire underwater.
WEAKNESSES:
  • Less effective against droids and cyborgs unless using medium or maximum settings.
  • Higher power settings lowered ammunition capacity and caused the EPC magazine to become exhausted faster.
  • Low rate of fire, high recoil, and diminished range make it less effective than more conventional weaponry for battlefield applications.
  • Less effective against high-powered or well-defended systems, often requiring several shots to disable powerful shields, force fields, or hardened systems.
  • Nothing stealthy about it, the weapon is about as subtle as a bull in a china shop.
  • Wireless connection to optic can be temporarily disabled by EMP/Ion attack.
DESCRIPTION:
Modeled on the “DN Bolt Caster” that was popular among Clone Troopers and other Republic soldiers during the Clone Wars, the Raijin represents the next generation of plasma blaster weapons. A reinforced duraplast casing, dallorian alloy, and other electronics ensure the weapon is highly durable, able to take plenty of punishment. Various power settings enable different capabilities:
  • A maximum power setting can be used to disable several droids or enemy systems with a single shot, creating a spreading series of electric shocks disabling systems, disrupting networks, etc.
  • A medium power setting can be used to increase effectiveness against specially-hardened droids or cyborgs.
  • A base power setting can be incredibly effective against organic lifeforms, and provides an effective breaching weapon able to bypass and disable blast doors, security locks, even shields and force-fields.
In short, the Raijin is a powerful and welcome asset to any team or individual wishing to add a ‘real punch’ to their arsenal.

Would should be could in this instance.

Stunningly effective against organic targets, a single direct hit is almost always lethal or – in the least – causes excessive damage to the target.
Language needs to be softened here, too. Words such as 'potentially', 'possibly', etc are your friend here. You always need to allow the opposition wriggle room to determine the effect of the hit.

Again, more softening of the language in these two areas as well, please.

[member="Runi Verin"], language is now 300 thread count Egyptian cotton soft with disturbing vagaries that split the outcome between nerf and (cue scary Hallowe'en voice) certain doooooooooom!

Happy Spooky Season and thanks for reviewing this!
