- Light hull plating makes the corvette vulnerable.
- Light weaponry will struggle against larger warships.
Designed as a dedicated escort corvette, the Rain-class excels in direct fire operations that would allow them to pair well with the Shield-class Escort Cruiser's heavy flak armament. A combination of a precession targeting system and fast tracks twin laser turrets allow the corvette to quickly fire on enemy fighters and munitions. Along with this, the ship is also armed with quad particle cannons for heavier fire,, and a pair of missile launchers armed with FM-1 Hailstorms allowing for limited long range capacity. These corvettes are also quite quick and agile, allowing them to get their guns where they're needed. At he same time, this speed and small craft focus and light weight defenses makes the Rain-class somewhat vulnerable to larger warships. Still, they can be fielded in large numbers, and help cover an area the flak hauler can struggle in.
