Rakghouls, Rakghouls everywhere!

I've been playing Swtor recently and due to the event it's got me thinking. What happened to the Rakghouls?

Did they survive or were they finally wiped out by companies such as THORN?

I remember them making some return in the Legacy era. But I think the plague survived and stayed on Taris.

We've had a few people use them for this thread or that. I stumbled into one about a year, year and a half ago as Jorus, and wound up as an emergency test subject for a vaccine during a serious outbreak -- hence the mercifully short-lived nickname Zombie Snogger. Don't ask.

I actually have plans to make an independent character (as opposed to my characters being tied to companies or factions) that visits Taris and snags a couple of the sentient Rakghoul sub-species as friends/named NPC's.

Because Rakghouls are kinda awesome.

Darksided Dathomiri noob that runs away from the Male Enslavement of his home planet (manages to snag a few artifacts that he has no knowledge about), and begins wandering the galaxy trying to figure out his place in it all (now that he's free), what the heck he actually has in his possession, and go do a bunch of archeology stuff as he tries to learn about alchemy, sorcery, and magical artifacts.

This guy is a Rakghoul that had the transformation halted midway. He isn't fully Rakghoul, but he has the plague.

So I guess they survived.
