- Nyriaanan: Rannek possesses the ability to see in low light due to species evolution.
- Crack Shot: Rannek has been hunting most of his life, sometimes for sport, sometimes for food. He's quite capable with Rifles
- Pistoleer: As a hobby, Rannek picked up trick shooting with pistols at an early age. Now, they are his bread and butter.
- Young: Rannek's rather young for his position.
- Inexperienced: Rannek is not the seasoned veteran that many in a command position would be.
- Hand to Hand: Rannek has had some training, and is competent, at hand to hand fighting, but he's no master.
APPEARANCE:
Rannek is a tall individual, standing at 1.8 meters tall, with hair hanging down to the tops of his shoulder blades. This is usually kept in a tight bun when in his uniform, but allowed to hang free or in a ponytail when a helmet is not required. His face is decorated with a pair of tattoos, giving his face a scarred look. His parents bear similar marks, as do the rest of his clan.
BIOGRAPHY:
Rannek was born on Nyriaan, but his family relocated to Commenor well before he was old enough to remember his home planet. He lived a happy life in the district of Juniper, honing his skill with firearms by means of hunting and shooting competitions. When he turned ten, his father gave him a pair of pistols that had been in the family for generations, as per Nyriaanan custom. Rannek treasured the pistols and trained with them daily, soon becoming a rather formidable shot.
On his twelfth birthday, he was sent off world to train with an offshoot Jedi Order to hone his force abilities. Rannek never took to the Force as he did his blasters, but he learned enough to get by. He returned home to Commenor when he turned fifteen, and spent his final year as a child with his family, working on the family farm.
When he became an adult at 16, he took what money he had earned, and set out on a short journey around the core worlds to see more of the galaxy. After this, he returned home to study at the academy on Commenor. Specifically, he wished to study politics, and eventually join the Commenor Senate. This never came to pass.
Rannek's parents were killed during the glassing of Munto City, and Rannek abandoned his studies to assist his fellow Commenor natives fend off the Sith occupation. Rannek didn't fight for glory or recognition, simply to free his planet from the tyranny of the Sith. He spent the months after the occupation helping rebuild homes, schools, and the like. He had neither the money nor the desire to rebuild the family farm, and so he sold it.
When Lord Voph arrived on Commenor and began forming the Octarchy Covenant, Rannek immediately signed up with the infantry. He proved his merit as a fighter, and was awarded the rank of Captain, and assigned to a Commando squad. Rannek spent the days training and patrolling his newfound home of Brelor City, until that fateful day when Commenor's Queen was murdered...
