The History​

Our Blood is Proud. Although the origin of these words have been lost to the ages, the family that wore them with pride and honor has remained. Raphael Boucher's true name of birth is Raphael Von Black and he is the third youngest son of Silas Von Black the late founder of the Von Black Bloodline. Though the Von Black line has existed under the shadow of the Winterhall bloodline for years, it was not until the waning days of the Galactic Republic that recorded history mentioned them. They were proud, they were honorable, and above all they were seen as Loyal to their patrons the Winterhall's. Service was the Duty of the Von Black's and they performed it well for years. They rose to the height of their power as the Baron's of Bastion. Their influence was well respected among the Moff's of the Galactic Empire and they were often used as council even to the Emperor himself. They were practical and did not directly interject themselves into the shifting climate of the galaxy. It was not their place and it would bring too much attention to the family. This was the belief of Silas, that the Von Black's should move silently and without attracting attention to themselves.

For years, the three brothers of the Von Black family acted as delegates, assassins, and espionage masters. It was their trade to deal in the dark. Gabriel, Michael, & Raphael were a devastating trio. With their skill set interjected into the galaxy they brought a mass of wealth and power to the Vampire family and their respective covens.

Skill breeds ambition and ambition can breed treachery. While Raphael was content with his father's path, the same could not be said for his older brothers. Gabriel and Michael dreamed of a unified Vampirika Empire with Bastion as it's base. During the fall of the Galactic Empire the Von Black family was set to create a faction in the heart of Imperial intrigue. Yet, having a chance of something does not mean it should be taken. In a move to protect his family and remove themselves from sight, Silas ordered his family evacuate Bastion before the inevitable power struggle of the Imperial Remnant appeared.

Gabriel and Michael took this as the final sign of weakness and in an attempt to seize power, they murdered their father. With their younger brother away there was no one to stop the coup and it would have survived, if Silas had not predicted the attempt. The Head of the Von Black's had always seen his eldest children for what they were and in a move to subvert them he had sent Raphael away to a far off world known as Illyria. Illyria was young and unknown to most of the galaxy. For years Raphael had been funneling money and power to the world, even embedding themselves in the fledgling Aristocracy.

Though the future of the Von Black's was safe, Silas knew he would never escape his sons without them finding him and destroying the new home of the Von Blacks, so he made himself a martyr instead.

Though it was against his orders Raphael could not remain on Illyria, instead he returned to the known galaxy as soon as his father's death was confirmed. This was his mistake. The brothers had painted Raphael as the murder of Silas and the entire Vampirika world, especially the Winterhall's had declared him a traitor to his blood. Raphael's revenge was done, but before he could return to his home he was captured by the Winterhall's. Believing him to be traitor they exiled the Vampirika and cast him away from the known galaxy. The only reason the man yet lives is because his blood is the last of the Von Black's. He lives for Silas and the legacy that they believed he destroyed.
