  • Intent: To create a quick launch feature for fighters that don't have a hyperdrive.

  • Quick Fighter Launch: This system allows for the rapid deployment of fighters that don't have a hyperdrive. Normal launch from a hangar can take upwards of thirty minutes as each fighter launches individually. This system allows fighters to launch simultaneously.
  • Hull Socket: Rather than an external rack like what the Carrack has, which is fine for a TIE Fighter, this system allows the cockpit of the fighter to extend into the ship when opened, allowing for boarding of exterior mounted fighters from within.
  • Shield Defense: Because it's hull-mounted, the fighters are protected in hyperspace by the ship's shields.
Strengths.png

  • Rapid Deployment: Fighters with no hyperdrive can be rapidly deployed upon entering a battlefield.
Weaknesses.png

  • Slow Recovery: Recovery processes are slower because each fighter has to be drawn into its dock and latched with the magnetic clamps.
Description.png

When problems arise, solutions follow. In order to lighten the load of several of their starfighters, EIC has removed their hyperdrive capabilities. This severely limits their rapid deployment capability, as it take some time to launch fighters once a vessel has entered the system designated for combat. Solutions have been used in the past, such as the external TIE Fighter rack on the antiquated Carrack Cruiser, but since TIE fighters arent in use by EIC customers, the external rack for them isn't of much use. It also leaves the fighters far too exposed. Instead, the idea was drafted to create external docking ports with magnetic seals and clamps to hold atmosphere in and keep the fighter secured. In addition, small tractor beams are utilized to guide the fighters into position when they're docking with the ship. This methodology allows a fighter to be boarded from inside of its carrier vessel, and to rapidly deploy through a simple release of the magnetic clamps. In this manner, whole squadrons of fighters can deploy at the same time, rather than one fighter at a time. The downside is that it's a bit slow to recover them, as the tractor beams have to maneuver the fighters in precisely to align cockpits with the magnetically sealed opening.
