[SIZE=14pt]Born from this was the Raptor Droid Fighter, a cheaper (and weaker compared to the vessel it evokes, though scary nonetheless) version of the K-Wing produced as a Droid Starfighter.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=14pt]It holds many things that are distinctive to the old K-Wings, such as a Quad Turbolaser, Plasma Torpedoes, as well as the addition of Proton Torpedoes as to inflict maximum damage onto enemy capital ships and truly them alone. It’s armaments devoted primarily to the destruction of capital ships, a slow but highly destructive bombing run able to be administered. When combined with other forces (such as dedicated bombers in the style of a Hyena) and support ships to prevent fighter assaults few ships can withstand a full barrage without some sort of damage.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=14pt]The common tactic of a Raptor is for the squadron to unleash their Plasma Torpedoes and disable the shields, then firing off proton torpedoes to inflict damage and then finally strafing with their turbolasers before pulling out for the capital ships to finish off the wounded vessel.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=14pt]This of course implies a perfect run, the Raptors hold dangerous weaknesses in their speed and strong lack of any sort of dedicated weapons to deal with fighters. To fix this there has been a shield implemented into the fighter, a rare feature for a droid controlled ship.[/SIZE]
