- Bomber: Designed as a heavy bomber, the Raskova delivers on the promise of destruction.
- Eavesdropping: Equipped with communication sensors that allow the ship to eavesdrop on encrypted comms.
- Munitions: While munitions are separated and are under constant surveillance, there's always a risk of sympathetic detonation. This risk increases whilst the ship is in battle/taking heavy fire, sympathetic detonation will result in mass casualties aboard the ship.
- Range: Much of the Raskova's weapons are ineffective beyond standard range, making long-range combat incredibly difficult if not impossible. This also leaves the ship without the ability to defend itself from long-range weaponry.
The Raskova takes on a new direction in 860, with the return of the Fortan-class the Raskova diverts course from hit and run heavy corvette to bomber corvette. Featuring four bomb magazines, in addition to standard range turbolasers and ion cannons the Raskova aims to punish larger capital ships. Equipped with a SubLight Acceleration Motor, Raskova can make haste toward her targets and unleash a fury of devastation before heading out of danger once more. Additionally, the vessel has been equipped with various eavesdropping technology allowing the Raskova to act as a radio vessel and intercept messages. This enables adds a non-combat role to the ships providing her with a secondary function of communications and intelligence work.
However, the Raskova has nothing in the way of long-range weaponry, leaving her unable to return fire unless she's closed the distance between her and her opponent. Secondly and perhaps most importantly, while the Raskova has installed preventive measures against sympathetic detonations. She is still susceptible to them the fear of a lucky shot hitting the munitions load is quite real for the majority of the crew aboard the ship.
The Raskova IV enters service in mid-860 as part of Primo Victorian's premiere Imperial line. She also marks one of the first ships of the decade and ushers in a new era of construction for the company.
