Description:
In need of a mobile base of operations, the Rebel Alliance set to work on creating its small fleet’s flagship. Its main roles would be to house fighter craft and provide medical assistance to Alliance fighters and the people they hope to liberate.

Home One was never designed for an all-out brawl. While the intent was to emphasize starfighter potency in attacks, it was quite obvious that such a ship would also need defenses against enemy battlecruisers and snubfighters. Therefore, ten heavy long-range ion cannons were emplaced to guarantee a quick knockout punch instead of relying too much on the more destructive but also less critically effective turbolasers. The carrier has, however, been outfitted with six heavy quad-turbolaser guns out of necessity, and its flak and point defense systems are vital to such a ship.

A wide variety of fighter and bomber craft are compatible with Home One’s hangars. The docking bay and hangar doors have been reinforced with impervium as these would be the most likely point of concentrated enemy fire. Steam-powered catapults for some of the Alliance’s more unique and limited starcraft have been installed in the hangars.

The interior is designed with safety and comfort in mind. A miniature hospital exists within the most protected bulk of the carrier, containing thirty ECHO Sterinull suites and several generously-sized patient wards accommodate masses of the injured and sickly. Each section of the ship is compartmentalized by airlocks and blast doors and is maintained by independent life support systems, thereby enabling inhabitants to survive should one segment of the ship be destroyed.

Home One is a little slow but does not need to get involved in the fray of battle as it usually serves as a launchpoint for the Rebel Alliance’s super-long range fighters.

Home One was constructed in sections on Heklor. Each section was then launched into orbit and attached to the other components, making the construction project entirely unknown as there was no shipyard to be detected.
