STRENGTHS
- | Cortosis Guard | The greatest threat to those who wield lightsabers, the Ravenous Bite features a bladed guard with a Cortosis edge, reinforced with Phrik for sturdiness. The guard is positioned in such a way that it will not negatively impact the saber's own blade, but the briefest of contact when locking sabers near the hilt with an enemy wielding a lightsaber can result in fatal results for them. The bladed nature of it combined with an ultrasonic vibration generator also allows for the weapon to still be effective and used for slashing or stabbing if the blade were to be shorted out by an external source of Cortosis.
- | The Blade That Hungers | The Ravenous Bite mirrors its owner's ideals and drains life from those it harms. For every wound it inflicts, it drains their life, draining more as those harmed by it take more injuries. This feeds and renews the wielder with the strength to continue fighting despite injuries they may take. The Ravenous Bite is also able to feed off the Force, being able to drain the potency of Force powers directed at it and absorb the energy to further replenish its wielder. It is also capable of consuming the essence of an individual before they are able to become one with the Force or theoretically consume Force Ghosts if the blade is applied directly to them.
- | Overwhelming Force | The combination of Rubat and Hurrikaine crystals within the lightsaber allow for the wielder to deliver a flurry of blows designed to force an opponent on their backfoot, with potential to simply just crush them under a barrage of strikes and knock lightsabers out of hands or cut through hardy defenses.

- | Double-Edged Sword | Much like Vexen's off-hand, the Devourers Maw, the Ravenous Bite feeds off the life of all in its vicinity. If it is not feeding off of enemies, it will start to drain from the wielder. The lightsaber blade is also susceptible to being resisted by lightsaber resistant materials or shorted out by Cortosis.
- | Relic of the Dark Side | Due to its nature as well as construction, the Ravenous Bite is a creation of the Dark Side of the Force. This makes it susceptible to the powers of Force Light and its effect.
DESCRIPTION
Where the Devourers Maw cleaved entire armies to sate its never-ending hunger, the Ravenous Bite serves to be used in more personal situations. Built with the same philosophies used to construct its spiritual predecessor, the Ravenous Bite draws from the life of its victims using the Katak crystals it has within it. It allows for Vexen to freely use Force Drain without much effort even while in the heat of a duel, giving him an edge over his opponents as he slowly wears them down, sapping their life little by little till they are too weak to continue on. The longer a fight lasts against the Ravenous Bite, the more apparent defeat becomes to those it is used against.
Apart from its ability to siphon the life force out of its prey, the notable designs of the lightsaber itself are the bladed guard and crystals it features within it. The Ravenous Bite is capable of being wielded in a single hand but can be held comfortably with two. The lightsaber itself features a crossguard and blade, almost as if it were a sith sword, with a gap in where the core of the blade would be. The Phrik construction of the crossguard, as well as the extending blades, allow for it to effectively catch a lightsaber, while the Cortosis on the edges take enemies wielding lightsabers off guard when it shorts their blades. Ultrasonic vibration generators allow for it to still be used as an effective slashing or stabbing weapon while the saber is not active, and has been commonly used to gouge out eyes or inflict excruciating wounds. Its use of Hurrikaine crystals makes for keeping opponents on the defensive and Rubat crystals for faster swinging much simpler for single-handed wielding - fighting off a single-handed form in and of itself is a challenge, fighting a double-handed form is a feat of strength and sheer willpower.
The Ravenous Bite produces a purple-colored blade, a stark contrast to the typical dark shades of red commonly used by Sith. While not confirmed, this may be a result of Vexen's internal mix of both Light and Dark side spirits held within him that he has consumed over his lifetime. The more reasonable explanation, however, can be chalked up to him using an extremely aggressive and dominating style of lightsaber combat.
