Nevermind. After sufficient research into body armor solutions in a near-perfect vacuum, I no longer care to even attempt to apply science to Star Wars.

It would be advise able to use packets of the glue-foam instead of strips. Less of the armor gets compromised per shot.

Good thinking. But if this foam idea doesn't work out, I'll just grab some of the restricted self-healing metal and call it a day.

Non-Newtonian liquids. They're making some amazing body armor out of them these days. Not self-repairing though.
