Rebuilding the Ruusan Academy

So, this thread will be starting up soon, but I wanted to know who all would like to help out with this project. Essentially, the Ruusan Academy is being turned into a research and development academy for the Jedi who are more inclined to technology and other fields of science like medicine, astrology, biology, etc.

The Academy will also be equipped with military grade defenses after that last time we were attacked to also allow us a fortified position near the Valley of the Jedi to protect it. Also, the Jedi Shadows will have a secret base nearby or under the academy if they so desire.

If anyone else has any other ideas, share below if you're interested in helping

You know I'm in I'm looking forward to seeing what ideas we all come up with! I like the idea of a Shadow Base beneath the temple. It would be a good place to store darkside artifacts that aren't destroyed or perhaps hold captive Sith.....MUAHHAHAHAH.

I love how we seem to be on the same wavelength with RP like this. Is this Jedi only, or can [member="Sankt Yora"] help out?

It will be Jedi leaning, but NFUs can be a part of it, including military and Senators

I would definitely be inclined to send Tyl to assist with any medical facilities and research that would be going happening at the academy.

I am also wondering in what sort of way will this all be carried out. Will there be IC dev threads or will this be an OOC redesign for use in IC circumstances?

If the choice is the latter (which I definitely dig quite a bit more), perhaps we should break into teams for the dev-ing? One team for the Shadow facility, another team for the medical/biological facilities, another for lore/history/librarian, etc. etc.

it will be an IC dev thread, but there is nothing stopping us from getting all our ducks in a row OOC before we begin the IC dev

Naturally, [member="Taeli Raaf"]. So let's get quackin (yay, puns!).

I imagine part of this restructure/rebuild will mean that there will be a new headmaster, yes? Will there be a Council there as well? If so, I would imagine that each division of Jedi R&D will have a head of department. Those leads would then form some sort of Council, and perhaps the head of the council (headmaster, whatever you want to call it) would also sit on the High Council. Would some of those positions need to be NPCed or is this something we aren't really going to consider?

How will the IC thread be structured? If this is a literal rebuild we could: design phase/build phase/commemoration phase (a.k.a. the Jedi party down like the Amish). But that could get a little droll. So we could just go straight up story idea if anyone has a good one.

Another r&d field we might want to consider: lightsaber technician (likely filled with weaponsmasters who have a knowledge of a variety as well as their design).

I'm sure I'll come up with more ideas. Just what's on my mind at the moment.

Taeli IC is being appointed the new headmaster, whether she will be on the High Council, no idea I leave that to Corvus and the other Council members to decide. The idea to have the heads of the different departments form a council at the academy is certainly an interesting concept, we would need a mix of NPCs and PCs I think.

I was thinking this would be a literal rebuild the place thread, since the OS blew up the old building, but some characters can focus on other aspects like establishing the defenses, setting up a place to meditate since it is still a Jedi Academy, etc. Basically, do what your character would be interested in doing with the rebuild, so if that is setting up a lab they can use, go for it. Planting a garden, just talking with others, whatever you want to do.

Lightsaber technician would be interesting indeed

Yes Yes Yes and More Yes! I'd be happy to help with this! Even if not with the building itself, I could certainly arrange to collect some artifacts and various things to store and study inside it. They belong in a museum. And this will work just great!
