The LAVr QH-7 Chariot was an iconic design during the Imperial Era, as it was designed to operate as a Command Speeder for the Imperial Army. As a modified and armoured Military Landspeeder - the Chariot served as a dedicated platform for Imperial Commanders to oversee Surface-based Operations. Or to serve as a speedy escape craft should the battle take a turn for the worst. While this practice was admirable, in some respect, the Republic Engineering Corporation believed that every good Commander should lead from the front. So, when those ancient schematics fell into the hands of the Research and Development of the Coruscanti Shipwright, they went against the original intent of the design.
Commanders should lead their forces from the front lines - not skulk behind a mobile armoured bulwark far away from the action. Therefore, the two designs that were generated - as well as their subsequent variants - were recast in structurally reinforced metallic plates, as well as a host of internalized upgrades. However, that’s where the similarities between the two versions of the modern Chariot ended - as their internal systems were geared towards their intended purpose. The Carrack was designed to house a lighter armament than it’s sister model, so that it could attain faster speeds and maneuverability - getting their precious cargo to where they were needed most, whenever they were required.
The first of the two variants that the Carrack offered was the Command variant, which fleshed out much of its internal space with additional communication and sensor systems. These additional systems would allow a Commander to more accurately oversee their Surface-based Operations, and communicate more effectively with their Allied Units. A portion of the newly installed equipment even held the capabilities of punching through, or burning out, localized and short-ranged jamming equipment. While such an outcome was possible, it was entirely dependent on the equipment pitted against the integrated systems. When it came to the Transport variant, there was little that could be said, as the Vehicle was meant to ferry troops into the heat of battle - and provide them the cover they needed to disembark.
With both variants of the Chakram available, Commanders across the galaxy would find themselves equipped with the right tool(s) for the job - ensuring their victories in the many battles to come. However, Republic Engineering cannot guarantee that purchasing this modern version of the Chariot would give a Commander the victory they desired.
