The LAVr QH-7 Chariot was an iconic design during the Imperial Era, as it was designed to operate as a Command Speeder for the Imperial Army. As a modified and armoured Military Landspeeder - the Chariot served as a dedicated platform for Imperial Commanders to oversee Surface-based Operations. Or to serve as a speedy escape craft should the battle take a turn for the worst. While this practice was admirable, in some respect, the Republic Engineering Corporation believed that every good Commander should lead from the front. So, when those ancient schematics fell into the hands of the Research and Development of the Coruscanti Shipwright, they went against the original intent of the design.
Commanders should lead their forces from the front lines - not skulk behind a mobile armoured bulwark far away from the action. Therefore, the two designs that were generated - as well as their subsequent variants - were recast in structurally reinforced metallic plates, as well as a host of internalized upgrades. However, that’s where the similarities between the two versions of the modern Chariot ended - as their internal systems were geared towards their intended purpose. The Chakram-pattern was intended to be more heavily armed in comparison to the Carrack, and came with the option to suit certain mission profiles.
The first of the Chakram’s two variants was the Fire Support platform, which found the Repulsorcraft equipped with a Heavy Composite Beam Cannon and a brace of retractable, Rotary Concussion Grenade launchers. While designed primarily to support the advances of friendly forces, the Repulsorcraft was also more than capable of engaging hostile Infantry with its myriad weapon systems. There was even a chance that the Fire Support variant could tackle lightly or even heavily armoured vehicles, provided a competent Pilot took the helm. The Mobile Artillery variant was forced to engage targets from afar - utilizing their Mortar to batter down enemy positions or formations.
With both variants of the Chakram available, Commanders across the galaxy would find themselves equipped with the right tool(s) for the job - ensuring their victories in the many battles to come. However, Republic Engineering cannot guarantee that purchasing this modern version of the Chariot would give a Commander the victory they desired.
