The REC/MS01 “Scorpio” - Pattern Repulsorscout was an Armoured Repulsorcraft produced by the Republic Engineering Corporation. The vehicle was designed to operate as a mobile weapons platform that would scout-out potential hostile targets from afar - and engage act as a light escort should the situation arise. With a host of automated sub-systems and a semi-sentient droid brain - akin to that of astromech droids - the Repuslorcraft was capable of being piloted by a small crew complement; without sacrificing their combat efficacy.
With several exterior repulsorlift engines and an underbelly anti-gravitic plate, the Scorpio was faster than the average speeder; capable of outpacing their vanguard forces or outrunning more heavily armed foes. The vehicle was lightly armed in comparison to the expected opposition, the Repulsorscout was forced to rely on its speed and maneuverability; proverbially dancing around larger targets - or sections of mobile infantry.
Therefore, the “Scorpio” was light and nimble, making it the perfect vehicle to act as a dedicated reconnaissance platform.
