Once, there was a dream of galactic unity.
Over time this vision of a bright and prosperous future was poisoned by stagnation and greed. It was said that the Clone Wars, the great battle that heralded the twilight era of the Old Republic and eventually gave rise to the first Galactic Empire, came from this festering corruption. It began with One individual who set his sights on controlling the entirety of the Galaxy. Where every star system and sector would be fervently loyal to him, and him alone, either through faith in his abilities or fear. However, this individual knew - through the collective wisdom of those that preceded him - that he couldn’t get what he so desired by taking it by force. He had to be given what he sought willingly. Thus, the man engineered events on an intergalactic scale to spawn a conflict that’d set the stars themselves aflame.
From this conflict, however, came a race of genetically-engineered warriors. The Clones. While they were ultimately nothing more than unwitting tools, they were used to bring about the new order and cast down the icons of the past. They were trained by some of the greatest warriors of that era, the nigh-mythical Mandalorians - at least those who chose to eschew their newfound cultural stance on peace. Their tactics and strategies made them adaptive and fearsomely effective when compared to the mass-produced splendour of their opposition. But, what made them genuinely iconic and legends worthy of remembrance was their armour. Their muscular frames were adorned in sculpted plates seemingly forged from the purest ivory, and their helmets were a notable blend of Kaminoan and Mandalorian designs.
Their legacy, long after their fight was done and the war was won, was carried forth by the Stormtrooper Corps - whose armour was a pale imitation of their predecessors. It was a design choice that came about from having already claimed the Galaxy - rather than trying to fight to claim it. Such a form-fitting model persisted for generations until the Galactic Empire was deposed and cast out into the fringes of society… where the newest iteration of the Stormtrooper soon found themselves clad in armour that was intimately similar to their spiritual ancestors.
This was the story that brought the first series of Advanced Shocktrooper armour to the fabrication facilities of the Republic Engineering Corporation. They were tasked with revivifying the Stormtrooper design that once made the First Order a force to be reckoned with, and they succeeded. The Golden Company managed to secure exclusive rights to the armour and utilized them in the Auxilia - coating the frames of former Stormtroopers and Clones alike. However, the upper echelons of the Corporation knew that they could do better and have a suit of armour that’d be widely accepted amongst the growing interstellar nations; One that eschewed the fearsome Imperialized design.
Thus, the Advanced Shocktrooper Armour; Series Two, was born.
Thankfully, the Republic Engineering Corporation didn’t have to start from scratch, as they already had access to the technical schematics of another iteration of the venerated Clone armour that was produced by the Core Imperial Confederation - before they mysteriously eroded and vanished into the night. As the company that initially created the armour vanished alongside the Imperial Remnant’s leadership as well, the schematics found themselves legally sequestered within REC’s databanks - waiting to be repurposed. So, when that time came, the design team was more than pleased to work within an already established framework, as all they would have to do was flesh out the armour with their own personal touches.
These aforementioned personal touches came in the form of advanced technologies that were woven into the armour’s structural composition. Each piece adds to the more considerable sum and makes the stark-white panoply better than it’s previous iterations. The first of these items, and arguably the most notable was the modifications made to the power gloves - which were fitted with durable circuitry that would activate on contact with a foreign object. While the power settings could be adjusted to range from non-lethal to lethal, the burst of electricity often leaves their target’s extremities numb, as if they were struck by a low-yield Force pike. This addition to the armour was affectionately given the “Shockboxing” moniker, for it’s close similarities to the Shockmitts popularized by the dangerous sport.
The second item that was equally important as the first was the integrated stabilizer mask. It was a device that worked by sending micro-pulses of electricity into the wearer’s mind - fortifying their willpower and regulating their patterns of thought. While the equipment had to be activated before it effects boosted the operator’s safeguards against telepathic intrusion, it was a beneficial trade-off. Especially when Soldier’s across the known universe were pitted against powerful Force-wielders, such technological boons were a God-send. Thus, soldiers that’d wear the Shocktrooper; Series Two would find themselves well protected - provided they learn to adjust to the micro-pulse(s) of electricity that rushed through their skull.
One of the last items that found its way into the armour was the antisepsis field - which would protect the Soldier from all matter of harmful bacteria, spores, and pathogens that sought to steal their lives away. This addition was a belated inclusion, as it became more apparent that chemical weapons were being deployed on battlefields across the galaxy, but it was a much-welcomed one. With every inclusion integrated into the stark-white panoply, the Shocktrooper; Series Two, becomes true to its namesake. Within days, the design team created the perfect homage to the Clone Troopers of yore - and made the armour worthy of forging its own legacy on the battlefields of the present. The dream of unity still burned bright, even after all this time. Perhaps, those who wore the armour of their revivified ancestors would see it through to the end.
