Strengths:
- Extremely Versatile: Mining, Ship Repair, Ship Construction, Ship Salvage, and Towing are all things that can be done with this vessel. this gives a Salvager Captain a great edge of any competitor.
- Slow: Being sol large, and being a boxy vessel the Reclaimer 1 is slow as dirt when turning. It can keep up with a fleet, but will lag behind a bit.
- Low Defenses: The Reclaimer 1 was not designed for combat. As such defences are reliant upon escorts to protect her. she can take a few hits, but she''ll soon fall apart under heavy fire.
The Reclaimer 1 is the pride of any Salvager or Rogue spacer who's looking to stake a claim. With a myriad of construction cranes she was designed to be the best mobile constructor on the market.
Originally the design was a rip off of a barge that was expanded upon by Jast Shipwright Co. They added cranes, an upper rack and several other automated systems. This allow the Reclaimer 1 to repair, refit, break down or even construct new ships on the go.
With Tractor beams, Cargo nets, Connor Nets and tow cables, captains can bring in anything they need so long as their capture means can reach for it.
The addition of the Automated foundry is a critical feature. With the mining lasers, and the capture means the Reclaimer 1 can mine asteroids or metal deposits and melt them down into the required components.
In large fleets with support these craft can even put together a space station part by part or a Ship yard. The drawback of such a magnificent manufacture ship however is that it is not built for combat. It's weapons are all defensive means. Under fire it will get slagged easily.
A popular option during an invasion or Dominion might be to keep these babies a microjump away and jump damaged ships back to the rear for repair and refit, then move them back into the fight.
