OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
All youth's who have been found to be force sensitive, either when reporting for their mandatory military service or by the sporadic hunts conducted by Cantoi's elite forces accompanied by a member of the Red Brethren. The royal military academy educate and indoctrinate these young and those who show strong mental resilience, talent/strong work ethic are picked from the institution. Only once they have entered the depths of the Royal palace do their genuine tests begin.
Within the first two years of induction, the initiate is relentlessly drilled and their minds are probed for weakness. During this period, daily arms drills are performed to further reinforce training granted by the Royal Academy. Swordsmanship and Spearmanship are supplemented by the Tradition's armored combat style and various other martial arts exclusive to the order.
If at any point during this process of reinforcement an initiate proves to be mentally unstable or cannot build adequate mental barriers they will be returned to the fold of Cantoi's special forces. Cantoi is rarely wasteful in their employment of force sensitives. In rare cases these dropouts can be kept on lower levels of the prison that the Order calls their headquarters.
After this two year period initiates must swear an oath of silence until they become full-fledged members of the order. They are then dropped into the first layer of Cantoi's maximum security prison underneath the Royal Palace, also known as "The Forge." Here sadistic criminals who were determined to have some worth to the planet are kept. In nearly every case these men and women were serial killers of varying talents. The initiate is expected to claim the tags of five prisoners.
On the next level Initiates face criminals who have slain dozens, the level after they face criminals with minor augmentations or weak force sensitivity who have caused damage on a provincial level. Following this they are faced with trained force sensitives, either washouts or those who have evaded military service, or any number of crime against the society of Cantoi, no force sensitive killers are on this level. However they will be faced with those who have been technologically augmented and those who have been granted access to combat drugs.
On the forth level they will face their most perilous challenge yet, true killers, trained force users who roam freely on this level. By now the Initiate is likely a skilled martial artists with many kills under their belt. However the challenges faced on this level result in many having to return to higher levels for training, or more experience. This is known as the great filter. Once they have completed this task they are to make their way to the center of the fourth layer. Once their they enter the fifth and final layer of the prison. Here resides villains or the biggest threats to Cantoi Society and the ruling order. Initiates will not have to face these threats.
Instead of combat the members of the orders are confronted with the ultimate test of mental fortitude. The elders of the order also take residence on the fifth layer as the final line of defense, and protectors of the Forge's inner sanctum. The initiates mind is bombarded with odd sorceries and once they enter the main hall of the Sanctum they are greeted by the master of the order and the council of elders personally. If his mind has proven resilient and the initiate has maintained their vow of silence they are inducted into the order proper and gifted equipment fitting of their achievements. They are also assigned one of the two schools of the order. Either the Lightning or Convection paths. The lightning path are the dedicated warriors while those of the convection path begin training to work the furnaces of the forge.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Red Brethren came into existence during the First Age of Cantoi, the age of slavery and oppression. They were one of many tools of the enslavers. They served to contain the populace and ensure order among the multiple settlements on the planet. The Brethren originally entered the order as a means to escape the extreme cruelty inflicted on them by their masters. However the members would always maintain their resentment and bitterness in their lot in life and what they were forced to do to their own people. When the first Silent King organized a rebellion and the Red Brethren were sent to crush this rebellion instead the order allied themselves behind his cause. The order armed the rebels and were often the spearhead in assaults against their oppressors.
Age of the First Silent King The order was given their punishment. Despite their great contributions to the freedom movement, they had still assisted in the oppression of the people. The Order willingly went into isolation. They were tasked with the guarding of the most secure prison on the planet, and so they isolated themself from the rest of Cantoi Society to protect it from the most depraved and those who would see their society destroyed. Here the Red Brethren adopted their Spartan lifestyle, living on little. To ensure that the order continued it's important existence as wardens they would be granted a number of force sensitives every decade to train.
Age of the Third Silent King The Orders restrictions were in place and soon they began to be forgotten by the rest of Cantoi Society. However once the alien menace came things would change. The Third Silent king was assassinated and Alien invaders sought to subjugate or destroy the population. The Royal family lifted the sanctions on the Red Brethren and unleashed them onto the foes. The warrior cult was the most affluent fighting force on the planet and they would prove as much to the people of Cantoi. They always appeared at the most pivotal points at the climax of brutal engagements. There they would cut through enemy forces and destroy key targets/objectives. Like many force sensitives on the planet they would have to return to their underground base in the royal palace to avoid the constant torment of the dark winds, but despite this limitation they would swing the war in favor of Cantoi. As such when the war ended their restrictions nearly completely removed. The Brethren chose to remain as wardens of the Forge. They had found a way to channel the energies of the forge to constuct powerful weapons of war and armors that could shrug off heavy weaponry.
Current Age Cantoi found itself on the brink of ruin, and the Order was forced to act. A member of the royal family who had been inducted into their ranks had returned to the planet while it teetered on the edge and the Brethren who had strayed from the politics of the planet surfaced and provided their kin with their great power. They would exterminate many who would see the planet burn over fragile traditions that were younger than the Brethren's long history. Now the Brethren, during this vital point in the planet's history, would serve with Gabriel Umberhorn to reassert the planet's position on the global stage.

- Motives: The core goal of this tradition is to protect Cantoi and to instill a strong martial culture and loyalty into the few force sensitives inducted into their order to ensure that the planet always has a strong base by which to form itself around.
- Rules and Teachings:
- The Silent Slaughter - The Brethren prioritize self control and measured killing, they are expected to master the main martial arts and combat doctrines of the Brenthren. These teachings are to be executed in silence, when the Red Brethren take to the field they bring death in pure silence and do not give in to the bloodlust inherent to the inhabitants of Cantoi.
- Loyalty - The Red Brethren are loyal to the planet of Cantoi and it's warlike culture, not any ruler. So long as the culture is protected and respected the Red Brethren will not correct the current leadership.
- Spartan - The members of the Red Brethren live very spartan lifestyles. Outside of their tools of trade they tend to have little possessions and dedicate most of their time to training when not on missions.
- Generational Hierarchy - The red brethren's structure is based on seniority. The most active members of this age are the Second and Third Generation Disciples of the Master Smith.
- Reputation: Very few know of the existence of the Red Brethren. Those who are know them to be a fearsome lot who inflicts brutal death on their enemies in complete silence.
- Openness: The order is very secretive, they rarely leave the confines of Hycantoi Prime's Royal Palace and prisons unless directly ordered to. In the odd case that an outsider discovers their existence it usually means that the Tradition has use for them and will offer training for the individuals knowledge or aide.
- Characteristic Equipment: The brothers and sisters of the Red Brethren are equipped with force weaponry, they tend to favor the usage of swords and spears in combination with a shield. They prefer physical full body armor as opposed to energy related weaponry. Lightsabers are rare weapons, the Brethren tend to look down on them as tools for the simple. Blasters while not banned are also looked down upon. If needed the Brethren prefer to employ slug weaponry.
- Notable Force Skills: Force Lightning, Force Convection, Force Speed, Fortitude, Cleanse Mind, Endure, Controlled Descent, Force Sense, Soft to Solid, Enhance Attribute The order's key priority is in physical enhancement and mental barriers. Their application of force lightning is limited in range and is usually used to augment their martial arts and weapons. The same applies with Force Convection. Their constant exposure to sorcery has given them a minor resistance, to both harmful and beneficial sorceries.
- Notable Force Limitations: The Society of Cantoi values mental fortitude and strong mental protections and as such they refute looking into the minds of others. This is only done as a means to test initiates and is rarely practiced by members outside of the Council of Elders. Telepathy is shunned and seen as weakness if a member allows telepathic messages to pierce their mind. While capable of minor applications of telekinesis this is also shunned as it takes away from their focus on up close and personal combat.
