DESCRIPTION
The Reef Home is an advanced variant of the MCS Solidarity-class Star Cruiser. Like its ancient predecessor from the Alliance to Restore the Republic, the Reef Home takes its name from the famous city on Dac.
DESIGN
The Reef Home starts with the basic design of the Reef home and enlarges it by two hundred and fifty meters making the vessel fifteen hundred meters in length. The larger hull makes room for a larger hanger and capacitor banks to power the new Delphus.6 shielding and additional weapons and systems. At the center of the Reef Home are two large experimental antimatter reactors. These large reactors power the vessels multiple systems and weapons providing constant power for these systems. The vessel can operate off one of the reactors using the second as a redundant supply if needed. These large systems are installed into Neuranium casements protecting the vessel from any accidental failure or over radiation. eight smaller Proton-8 reactors are installed as a tertiary level of power redundancies. A redundant capacitance system is installed on the Reef Home made up of redundant power distribution conduits and Multiple Redundant Cap Drains are installed across all of the vessel's energy storage systems maintaining constant levels of energy storage for the vessel.
DEFENSE
The Reef Home is a formidable vessel when it comes to defense. The Neualuquad Ablative Armor Plating while thin making room for redundant internal systems The armor has advanced ablative systems and stealth properties which give it slightly below average defense against incoming fire. It makes up for this with its stealth properties which deny targeting of individual systems aboard the vessel. This and the complex blister emplacements which house external systems such as weapons and shield projectors make individual system targeting extremely difficult. This armor is thin and will not last long against sustained heavy fire. The framework of the vessel is an advanced Ferrocarbon Condensed-matter Composite Starship Frame. This frame allows the vessel to flex under extreme punishment while remaining strong, giving the hull far greater longevity in combat. Turadium Blast Doors, Bulkheads, Internal Walls make up the internal structure providing a hardy series of corridors and egress points. Impervium Casements cover all storage compartments, Port Holes, primary and secondary access hatches, and external docking frames. This makes these points hardened against cutting and most forms of weapons or equipment meant to bypass such systems. The Reef Home can flood any of its rooms or corridors with pure water to counter boarding and assault forces as well as act as a fast repair for small hull breaches. The water once subject to vacuum will boil cleaning the puncture of debris and residue then as it succumbs to the freezing temperature of space the corridor or room will freeze sealing any micro breaches closing off the adjacent corridors from Vacuum. This system is also used as a secondary fire retardant when needed.
The Reef Home is equipped with Multiple Redundant De-ionizers to shunt ionic energy away from the vessels systems and into large capacitance banks. Aegis II Anti-Concussion Field Generators are installed aboard the Reef Home to protect the occupants from the rigors of space travel. These systems also aid in softening the effects felt by the drew from impacts from weapons and spacial objects
Six Aura-class Tractor/Pressor Beam Projectors are installed to assist the Reef Home with vehicle recovery as well as to act as an additional layer of defense against large incoming objects. These systems also give Reef Home the ability to tow and push large vessels making recovery and tug operations accessible for the vessel. An advanced Vanish 2 military sensor masking system is installed on the vessel giving Reef Home negligible stealth compatibilities. This system acts to block and confuse sensors and scanners by making the vessel appear to be invisible. This is utilized by a complex suite of electromagnetic and holographic projectors making the vessel appear to blend into the background of space.
At the core of Reef Home's extreme level of defense, is the newly designed Delphus.6 Shielding system.
the multi-projector array houses a ray shield array protecting Reef Home from energy-based weapons and spacial effects. A particle shield array protects from kinetic weapons that fire projectiles and from space debris and solid matter. A relativistic shield array is included to protect from temporal effects. a rad-dampening shield array protects from harmful radiation from weapons and spacial anomalies. An atmospheric-friction shield array to protect the ship from entering and exiting a planet's atmosphere. An ion shield array protects from harmful ionic interference such as Ion storms and Ion Cannon fire. A tenth smaller projector is built into the base of the structure, below the main projector, which emits a smaller field that offers the projector itself its own shielding. The field only extends out around the projector and offers no protection to the vessel outside defense for the projector. In addition to the previous systems shield types the Delphus.6 adds are a pair of Molecular shield projectors that give the shielded zone a double redundancy molecular shield. This shield works to aid the energy systems in feeding the shielding and equipment aboard the vessel with needed energy. This shield siphons a percentage of all forms of energy from incoming fire. It then feeds this energy to the systems array of capacitor banks. these massive power capacitors then regulate the power and send it to other systems which may need more power via triple redundancy power regulated cable systems. A new Solar Radiation Shield has also been added to the projector to assist the shield system in dealing with solar radiation and solar-powered weapon systems. In addition to the multiple projector system, a system of Micropoles are installed at each point of the hexagon to aid in defensive coverage.
SECURITY
The Reef Home has multiple systems for both network and shipboard security. Embedded Mantraps intensify local gravity to restrict movement. each corridor and room has floors lined with these projectors making movement through the vessel very difficult if enabled. Magnetic Field generators line the corridors which can close off sections of the vessel from gases and other airborne pathogens when needed. They can also be enabled in a section and then have the atmosphere pumped out of the section cutting any occupants in the section off from breathable air. Force Field Generators line the corridors which can be engaged to close off sections of the vessel when needed, this limits movement through the corridors. An assault and security force complement of twelve hundred marines is garrisoned aboard the Reef Home. This force works as security for the vessel and doubles as an elite strike force when needed.
Standard low priority network security is managed by an Encryption Network which provides minimum security for personnel communications and ow value file transfers. For medium priority files and communications, a secondary layer of protection comes in the form of Pyrowalls. These security measures are used by internal starship communications as well as for low priority fleet communications. Socketguards are installed at even terminal and network access locations to prevent slicers from accessing the starships network. Rapid Repetition Defense Measure programming was used for higher-level network access. These countermeasures scanned and maintained the vessel network at all times looking for suspicious activity and attacks from hostile intruders. EI-9 network security droids were included in the complement of the vessel and used to protect the ships network physically as well as internally.
ARMAMENT
The armaments of the Reef Home are improved over the original Solidarity class. The addition of long-range six Vengeance Quadra Assault Turbolaser Octet Turrets improved the vessel's long-range capabilities and overall firepower. These large emplacements are located in staggered blisters amidships and can engage targets in the forward and flank fire arcs. The addition of several Orca-class Turbolaser Cannon Batteries brings the total back up to ninety-six batteries of three dual turrets each. This matched the generation one Solidarity in energy weapon loadout. These batteries are located across the hull in armored shielded blister emplacements. The layout gives the emplacements the ability to engage targets in the fore and flank fire arcs. Only six of the emplacements have a clear line of sight to the aft fire arc limiting the ability to engage targets directly behind the vessel. An additional four Galeus-class Ion Cannon Batteries have been added to the vessel utilizing part of the extra two hundred and fifty meters of length. These blister emplacements are located on the forward flanks of the vessel allowing the emplacements to cover the forward 270-degree arc of the vessel.
Rounding out the offensive weapon systems of the Reef Home are the twelve MCS1020 Sea Hawk Heavy Torpedo Batteries. Each battery houses six launchers with auto-reloading systems and their own individual shield projector. Each of these large projectile launchers can launch variable types of warheads specifically designed for the system as well as standard assault grade missiles and heavy torpedoes. These launchers are installed om gimble mounts and all located on the forward hull. They can fire on targets in the forward arc.
Defensive Armament of the Reef Home has been substantially increased with the addition of Six MC-d1001 Tarpon-class Heavy Defense Batteries. These large defensive blisters are positioned on the flanks of the vessel, three to each flank. They can cover the flank ninety degrees fire arc of the vessel and give the broadside armaments potent coverage against corvettes and smaller attack vessels.
twelve MC1006 Sturgeon-class Laser Defense Batteries are positioned on the dorsal and ventral hull of the vessel giving each of the weapons a full three hundred and sixty-degree line of site and fire arc. This high rate of fire multi-weapon batteries provides heavy short-ranged point defense against incoming projectiles and attack craft by filling the area with continuous area denial firepower.
Six KD12-1 "Interceptor" Defensive Batteries are installed on the fore and aft hulls, four forward two rear. These launchers fire various types of countermeasure chaff further aiding the vessels anti projectile anti-attack craft capabilities. They are able to launch canisters that Impede targeting and sensor locking as well. Six Plumbata-class Point Defense Batteries are positioned three to a flank and cover a full one hundred and eighty-degree flank arc of fire. These weapon systems provide longer-ranged point defense against incoming projectiles and attack craft. rounding out the defensive weaponry of the Reef Home are six LLT-2 Seure-class Cannons. These advanced point defense weapons are for close-range engagement against attack craft. Thier advanced systems can penetrate shielding and hull armor of small attack craft easily and work as the last line of defense against attack craft. They like the Plumbata are mounted on the flanks so they can engage targets in every fire arc.
EWAR
The main EWAR weapon of the vessel is a massive Tsunami-class Ultrawave Jamming Array. This large multi-coil inductor array can transmit a powerful wall of static powerful enough to block all radio frequencies in a system. This large scale transceiver gives the vessel its own secure Hyperwave transmitter as well as act as a massive passive weapon system against sensors and communications. redundant back-up Frequency Jammer Arrays are installed to aid the vessel in blocking communications over an entire planet if needed. Missile Deactivation Transmitters are equipped to aid the point defense weapons of the vessel. These systems target incoming guided projectiles and detect their guidance frequencies. Once detected the system would deactivate the incoming projectile. Further aiding in the defensive EWAR suite were Anti-ordnance EM Probe Launchers which launched probes that disrupted the electronic guidance systems of incoming guided projectiles. Redundant Gravitic Amplitude Modulators are equipped to assist the stealth systems of the vessel. These systems work to counter their foe's mass detection systems. The vessel is equipped with several Long Range Jamming Beams which can target and paint an enemy vessel. once painted the beam of the system disrupted the vessel's fire control system allowing attack craft to move in and attack unhindered by defensive fire from the target. LLT-12 Erebus Jamming Arrays round out the vessels EWAR suite. these long-range jammers work to block the enemy's targeting systems' ability to target the host vessel.
ELINT
Long Range (EPR) Electro Photo Receptors are sensors which work in the visual light spectrum to see objects at a distance. Most photo receptors worked outside the visual band imiging an object in various wavelengths. Photoamplifiers are used to fix onto a target and gain a visual image of it. this system can magnify and with assistance from visual processing programming, clarify and contrast an image at very long distances. The extensive Electronic Intelligence capabilities of the Reef Home also includes several banks of Doppraymagno Scanners which use doppler imaging, X Ray projectors, magnetic Resonance imaging to see inside objects. This capability is extended to scanning the interior of objects, clouds, and behind solid objects to locate hidden constructs and vessels. These systems work in concert with Doppler Sensor Arrays to monitor radio, gravity, and sound waves in a system. These systems can determine if an object is moving away or towards them even if the object is hidden from other normal sensors. This aids targeting stealth vessels and hidden constructions by comparing the information from the systems and forming a valid targeting solution based on the contact's speed and heading. (CGT) Crystal Gravfield Trap were specialty sensors used to identify cloaked vessels. like the Doppler sensors, the CGT used gravity fluctuations to identify unseen cloaked vessels. These systems can be utilized at short range by creating a bubble of powerful static around the host vessel which blind targeting of guided warheads and attack craft moving into attack distance.
COMPLEMENT
The Vessel has a modest crew complement of four thousand five hundred. The command chain begins with the one hundred and fifty officers who command the various stations and sections of the vessel. The tactical branch includes seven hundred and fifty gunners and support staff. An auxiliary section of five hundred crew work under the chief of the boat as Maintainance and damage control for the vessel. This group can be bolstered by members of the tactical crew if needed. six hundred and fifty crew make up the flight operations section and are responsible for all hanger operations. Two thousand three hundred and fifty souls make up the remaining crew. These midshipmen, chiefs, bosuns, specialists, and other various non commissioned crew to operate the vessels multiple systems and stations ranging from communications and sensors to janitorial and engineering.
A section of the vessel is dedicated to passengers when the need arises. Births and staterooms for two hundred passengers are maintained and ready for visiting delegates, or any guests the vessel may host. A training and barracks section of the ship houses twelve hundred marines and their equipment. This includes a dedicated marine training simulation room, medical facilities, and marine hanger for two squadrons of shuttles, landers, assault craft, and transports. The hanger had a triple layer blast door for protection when in battle. This hanger also functions as the guest hanger for guests and cargo transports and freighters.
The vessel has a large hanger capable of storing, servicing, and launching two full wings of attack craft. This hanger also has docking clamps for vessels up to one hundred meters long. Two smaller hangers on each end of the hanger each house three squadrons of attack craft. Tractor beam projectors are installer on the ceiling of the hanger for docking of larger craft and fighter docking assist. Like the assault hanger, the smaller fighter hangers each have triple-layer blast doors for protection in battle.
A large cargo section is located aft of the main hanger and can hold twenty thousand tons of equipment, vehicles, walkers, or other cargo needed for starship operations. This includes rations and consumables needed for a full twenty-four months of operations without resupply.
