DESCRIPTION
The goggles worn by the Squib salvager known as Under Foot Under Foot were a multipurpose piece of equipment, used for both long- and short-range tasks. Physically, the goggles were composed of lenses crafted from red-tinted B'sant, bound in a ferrocarbon housing that was connected to a leather strap fitted to the Squib's head. The integrated electronics were hardened against ion energy, thus were still capable of function even in highly charged environments such as ion storms, though were limited in functionality by a miniscule power cell that required periodic recharging when in frequent use.

High heat resistance and on board temp monitor made the goggles ideal for use as welding goggles, where the addition of photoamplifiers also allowed the Squib to see extremely fine detail at close range for delicate work. A mineral spotter aided the Squib in evaluating an object for barter or trade, while the measuring scanner was ideal for assessing cargo volume. When piloting, the electrobinocular feature aided the Squid in survey or range finding. When used for range-finding, the goggles only provided measures of distance and did not have any use as a targeting sensor.
