Weird Dude
Today, almost to the hour, marks my first full year of roleplay on SWRP: Chaos, and gosh, what a year! I'm not often one to talk about myself or my deeper feelings very often, but today is a special day, so I'll allow myself to gush a bit.
One year ago today I was struggling with my writing, not really having many outlets for my love of roleplay. I had at best two or three partners that were consistent, and it was over Discord DMs of all places. I wasn't satisfied with that, and was desperately seeking new places to get some new stories told. A good friend of mine told me about Chaos in many of our regular discord calls, and I at first was dismissive. I was never one for showing my work to large groups (most of my stories are still in my head) and the though of posting to a forum sounded scary. But one night, when I was feeling quite lonely and bored, I tell my friend I'll try Chaos out.
Thinking nothing of it, I went with my standard archetype for a character. A rough and mean mercenary with more muscles than brains. That was July 31st, one year ago, and since then I've been everything from a human mercenary fighting for whoever pays, to a Togorian freedom fighter casting his lot against a massive galactic threat. All of these stories and more I cherish in their own unique way, as I do the various people I've met on the various planets of a Galaxy Far Far Away.
Braze , Bella , Amiggie Lutih , Marlon Sularen , and Sig Dryggo just to name a few of the awesome characters and writers I've been blessed with the opportunity to have my characters stand beside. Whether that be as ally or as enemy, I am proud to call you all my co-writers. You're all very skilled performers in the galaxy spanning play we call Chaos. There are so many more people who I've met through this board that are worthy of a direct shout out, and my only regret is that I cannot personally thank each of you in the way you truly deserve. I'd probably have to write a dozen or so posts as detailed as this to thank everyone who has touched my life on Chaos, so instead, I think I'll just thank the board as a whole for accepting me as a writer. Maybe even as a friend?
I was (and have almost always been) a loner by nature, with few people I'd actually call a friend. That seems to have ended with my joining this website. There are so many of you I'd consider friends and acquaintances that I don't think my loner moniker fits me anymore. For that I am truly grateful.
So in conclusion I'd like to do two things. First, I'd like to say here's hoping for many more years of our Chaotic Star Wars roleplay, and the adventures we'll no doubt have. Secondly, I'd like to give a personalized thank you to DeadpoolMLP , for without whom none of this would be possible. Not my renewed vigor in writing, nor my new friendship, nor my newfound love of a franchise I once scoffed at. Many thanks to you Wade, and may your journeys through the galaxies be filled with laughter and excitement.
That ends this tearjerker of a post, now back to the war!
