October stood on the sands of Kashyyyk, his grey eyes peering out at the ocean. He had abandoned his shoes by a nearby tree, among with his coat. His hat sat nicely on his head. The eight year old boy felt a gust of wind on his face. It was different being alone...at the same time nothing changed. The same blank emotion that has been on October's face since ever....was still present, the dried blood of his mother still on his face.

The whitewash touched his feet, wetting the base of his pants. The cold water caused his to flinch a little, but then like a flash his face went back to being blank.

The boy crouched down and touched the water. He began to grasp at it.
"I cannot hold you for long, yet you can hold me forever." The boy flatly said as he pulled his hand out of the water and watched as his reflection became clear. He looked at his own reflection.

"October." He whispered

He stood up and gazed back to the ocean. He had been looking for someone, he didn't know who....but Kashyyyk was the place to wait.

He looked from the ocean to the sky, as the sun rose above the horizon. Waiting.

"He's coming..." The boy said as he stood gazing

His boots sunk into the sands of Kashyyyk, walking along the shore from his ship that he had recently landed there, looking into the ocean he padded along the shore, the sand crunching underneath him as he walked. Sighing soft as he looked out into the sky, he wanted to say something to her, but he couldn't he never could, he shook the thought out of his head, it was getting to him, the softness, the calmness of Kashyyyk. But, as he walked he stumbled upon a person, raising a brow as he got closer he realized it was a young boy. Walking up to him he crouched down slightly near him. He opened his mouth to speak to the boy,

"What are you doing here all alone? Shouldn't you be with your family, or some friends? Come on I'll take you home bud."

He began to stand up looking down at the boy, towering over him as he was a fairly tall man hoping that the boy would let him take him home and not cry or yell because he was a stranger.

The boy would hear the sound of metal boots muffled on the sand, soon it got close enough that when the boots touched the water it made soft splashing noises. The boy looked down from the sky towards the horizon.

"There you are..." He whispered. He then looked up to the man, only his eyes moved, his face still facing the horizon. The man was way taller than him,

The man began to ask October questions. October finally turned his head fully to look at the man, his face still blank.

"Mother got killed the other day, father is too busy dealing with quelling a rebellion to notice his illegitimate son. Friends I have no need." October said blankly. The man's armour was strange. The man offered to take October home.

"Home?" The boy said. He then stuck his hand out waiting for the man to grab it.

The boy looked back at his reflection.

"Bye October."

He felt the small hand of the child in his own, a small memory flaring to life but he quelled the thought, the pain that came made him even more sad, it had been a long day, as was all days but all he could do now was help this strange young boy, during their conversation he realized that this kid was quite.. different. He had no friends, he lost his mother and had no father, quite like him in fact. He was confused why he had said, "There you are.." before he had walked up but threw it into the recycling folder in his mind. Looking down at the young boy seeing him walk as he slowed down his usual pace, his long legs barely taking a full step so they boy wouldn't get too far behind.

"So where do you live? Where's your home? Near here or is it somewhere else perhaps? Or is it just you here?"

He waited for the boy to answer walking toward the closest village and to where his ship was docked. Looking out into the ocean and the sky then back to the boy, why was he there? why was he in the water looking at the sky, as if waiting for something, or someone to come.

They began walk, the sand sticking to the boy's feet as they walked to the village. The man obviously slowed down for the boy. October kept his gaze towards the man.

"Live.....I live wherever it takes me." The boy said as they continued to walk. October stopped and turned to the tree where he left his shoes and coat.

He then reached his free hand out and pointed to it.

"Back...." He said softly, his voice monotone.

The boy then began to walk back and pick up his coat. Slowly he pulled it over his body. He then put on his shoes. October then walked back to the man.

"I am October." The boy whispered as he reached his hand out again.

The man had arrived....where were they going?

While they were walking he watched the boy stop and point back. He raised a brow confused as he watched the boy walk back to a tree. Still watching him he then saw him pull on a coat and shoes, John realized he must have left them there, he waited for the boy and as he approached he reached his large hand out holding the boys hand again as they made their way back to town. Thinking about what the boy had said about his father he wondered where the father was fighting. With The Outback? Or maybe with some other faction fighting within some of the more dominating forces. Looking down at the boy as he heard him tell John his name he nodded soft, "October" what a weird and interesting name for someone.

"My names Shepherd, John Shepherd. It's nice to meet you October, do you live here in the village? Or do you live on some other planet and your mommy took you here? Or are you just here alone?"

He looked at the kid wanting answers, he wanted to help the boy, but he couldn't see through his monotone voice, was he scared, worried, excited, lonely? He couldn't tell, and he couldn't break through to this strange boy. But, nonetheless he kept walking toward the village his boots crushing through the sand. He though for a brief moment what other people would think when they saw this pair, Father and son? No. he wiped the though from his mind clearing it not wanting to think about it anymore.

October grew closer and closer to the village.

"My father is Petrovska Crystall...my mother died on Corellia..." He said in the same tone. The village where the man was leading him came into view. October looked around and gave a small nod.

"What do you do?" He asked. October hadn't known much on being social, but from what his mother had told him, this is what small talk was. October wiped the blood off his face, his mother's blood.

The boy couldn't help it if he rarely felt emotions.

Who was this man, the boy almost let out a sigh. The sun moved overhead.

"Where are we going?" The boy asked.

The boy kept his free hand at his side,

October turned to the man, he had a rugged appearance, he seemed like the mercenary type.
