Reforging Ruins 1/3

In Umbris Potestas Est
Tund

In the corner of the Tund system, hidden within the remains of an asteroid belt, was what had been an Imperial shipyard utilized for research and development - from where Rokur Gepta, the last Sorcerer of Tund, had likely . For hundreds of years, this massive structure had simply rested in disrepair, too big to convert into scrap, yet too expensive to be of use to most anyone. But today would be the day that the project, a massive undertaking of tremendous proportions, would begin - to restore the shipyards to functional status. The technology utilized within it, however, was likely out of date, and a lot of work would need to be put into it before it was functional - but the effort needed would likely be less than constructing an entirely new facility.

Less would need to be paid out of pocket too.

Taeli, known as Darth Arcanix, had never been to the Tund system, but she knew of its history and ties to an old order of sorcerers and the Galactic Empire forged by Darth Sidious. She had been sent a message by Circe Savan, and knowing she owed the woman for helping with the Exalt, she had gladly obliged meeting her in the system.

Her Sicarius Infiltrator slid through space towards a derelict shipyard, sitting empty within an asteroid field. If need be, and if this was the project they needed to work on, she could easily call for a team from Krayt to assist Circe's engineers in restoring it. Shrugging, she would help her however she could.

Circe could only smile from the bridge of her Cyracuse-class Drone Carrier as she noticed the arrival of Taeli's vessel. It was time for the two of them to cooperate once again - and in this instance, Circe had a very special surprise for the woman known as Darth Arcanix herself. "Taeli... I need you to come on board my ship. It'll be safer as we move through the exterior of the field towards the center dock of the shipyards. Not to mention I have some sealed suits we need to put on."

She grinned. "Not to mention, I have a surprise for you..."

"You know sometimes I worry about what you have in store for things," she said over the com, docking with the Cyracuse and moving through the docking tube. She was met by someone who worked for the other Sith, clad in a full work suit and visor blackened. Following the person, she found the woman standing on her bridge and smiled.

"It's good to see you again, Circe," she said, curtsying a little in a show of respect. "I think you'll be happy to know the Exalt is now in full-production at Bilbringi, three more on the way with another five slated for construction within the next few days. So what did you call me for?"

She smiled. "Taeli... So good to have you here." Moving forward, she gave the fellow Sith Lord a hug before pondering over the circumstance in question. "Well, my reason here is twofold." She motioned for the woman to follow her down a hallway. "See, officially, you're here because I asked you to help me get this ancient shipyard here in the Tund System completely refurbished. It's massive... Many kilometers long, and a perfect place for the company's larger ships to be constructed. Unofficially..."

Stepping into a room that was part of the Cyracuse's mobile laboratory, she tapped on four metal-encased tubes. "This is the unofficial reason you're here. These belong to you. We merely have to create armor for them."

"Are these what I think they are?" Taeli asked excitedly. She heard about Circe's experiments into creating a species of beings that had plant-like qualities, but she hadn't been sure if they were true or not. "These are fully gestated Vinithi, aren't they?" she asked, smiling a bit.

She would, of course, call her engineers to come here and help Emeritus Industries get this shipyard up and running. They might be a Protectorate company, but helping a fellow Sith was always something Taeli didn't mind . . . as long as she also got something out of the exchange. She wondered why Circe was presenting her with these Vinithi though.

"Can I ask why?" she said, bombarding the other Sith with a third question.

"You know why." She smirked, leaving it at that. "But they lack armor. And another reason I have them here for you is so you and I can develop a suit of armor for them, based off of blueprints I've been working on for a very long time. Seeing as you're here, why don't we get to work and, you know, develop that suit of armor? I have other individuals just waiting for their suits, but these prototypes have to be made first."

More work, more pain, more gain.

"Fair enough," Taeli said, nodding. "So can I see these blueprints and what exactly are you looking to get out of this armor for your Vinithi?"

She was curious what exactly Circe had planned, as the woman was generally very tight-lipped about her overall plan. Still, Taeli would be definitely willing to help to develop an armor system for the plant beings, but she had a price of course. All help required it after all, especially when it was between two Sith.

"Although, I have to ask that in exchange, you teach a Force technique you know," she said, smiling a bit. "Academic curiosity and all of that."

"Very well." Circe grinned, eying Taeli over as she opened up a datapad, showcasing a complete holomimicry of the armor's design. "It'll be tailored specifically to Vinithi physiology, with a few unique features - chief among them will be the energy shields, not to mention a built in nutrient pack and other various features. As for the training...

"Well, what do you want to know?"

[member="Enigma"]

"Let's get this armor developed, give me time to think about what I might want to learn this time," she said with a grin. Looking over the schematics, she could see what Circe was aiming for. A heavy resistance to energy and Force attacks, but not as much against physical things like a blade or slugthrower.

"So was this a contest to cram as many systems into one armor system as you could?" she asked, jokingly. "I mean I was raised by a Mandalorian mother, but my gosh, this is a lot. I like it. Hmm, perhaps . . . yes maybe that would work . . . okay, so what exactly has been the problems you've been running into with designing this?"

"Not so much a problem as there is the fact that I could use some help making it. Considering our previous experience, I believe that you're the individual best suited to the task at hand." She smiled, blushing a bit as she looked over the armor. "The armor does have one chief feature to ensure that only a Vinithi can use it - a nutrient needle, right where the spinal cord of a humanoid is." She gave a sinister grin.

"After all, I do love seeing foolish individuals turn themselves into paraplegics thanks to their own stupidity."

[member="Enigma"]

"Well . . . that seems a touch . . . morbid," Taeli said, shuddering a little at the thought of some hapless idiot trying the armor on that wasn't Vinithi. "So, do you have a place we can get to work then? No time like the present to begin working on the prototype after all. Although we might need some awake Vinithi to actually try sections of it on to make sure everything is working."

This armor system was going to be interesting to develop, mainly because she had no idea what to expect the process to be like and what else Circe might have planned for this armor. Still, right now it seemed to be straight forward and would be useful against Force users, but not against someone like a Mando brawler.

"You'll have to excuse me if I'm rather protective of my sons and daughters, not to mention what they wear." She gave a straight face. "I've never given birth, but that doesn't mean I haven't carved my children from myself. All of these are based off of samples taken from my second body." Turning back to the armor, she pondered over its overall construction. "It should be durable enough. I certainly hope so... I didn't have all these children for no reason whatsoever." She pondered over the next development of the shipyard outside, and snapped her fingers, speaking into the ship's comm systems.

"Send a team of Miraris to secure one of the shipyard's hangars. From there, we can repressurize the rest of the station section by section, in order to finally put it to use."

[member="Enigma"]

"If you need help with the yard, I can contact my engineers and have teams out here if you need them," Taeli said, listening to Circe's orders in regards to the station. It was strange to see the woman actually focusing on her own company and how they worked was a bit different in regards to that. Still, she was certainly glad to help with the armor project and the shipyard.

"Hmm, I'd recommend stronger portions of the armor here, here , and here," she said, looking over the schematics again and pointing at the shoulders, joints, and neck. "Maybe not actual plates, but extra layers of the light stuff so the joints are protected as they are rather vulnerable in most armors after all."

"That certainly makes sense... I can't afford to compromise flexibility for protection, but applying more layers of armorweave there should be a worthwhile amount of protection." She grinned, peering outside as some Reclaimer-class ships moved towards the station, in preparation for the inevitable repair of the massive shipyards in question.

"Vinithi have a significant capability for biomass repair, and as such are difficult to truly kill. I have to make sure the armor enhances that capability."
