Regarding Continuity Between Roleplays

In reading the guide for character creation, I noticed a reminder that the bio section should be consistently updated as RPs go along. However, my intention with my character was to lay out his backstory, but to have different roleplays be different ways that his life could have gone from there. In other words, the RPs aren't connected to each other. but are treated as all being alternate universes in regards to his timeline. I'm doing this because I believe a variety of different storylines can help me develop my character more effectively, without it having to be hindered by one bad roleplay in the past. This also allows me to let my character die in a roleplay without having to create an entirely new one.

Is this allowed?

Just update as in, link your threads.

You can update the actual content as required. As long as you have your basic items in the bio, you are good.

Understood, but what I'm asking is if these updates can specifically be avoided - For the most part, I don't want my character's RPs to be canon to him in other RPs, especially if he died in them.

Pretty much, you can do anything within reason as long as everyone is okay with it. You could technically spawn a fat man that shoots Death Stars and runs on willpower if you wanted to, but keep in mind that most people would either ask you not to or report such things. We're a self governed community; the staff are there to keep the peace, not rule our lives.

That being said, I think you could/should leave a note in your signature or a spoiler that summarises that your presence isn't necessarily your canon so that people know not to weigh so heavily on your interactions or relationships. You'll find that most folks here in my experience would be okay with that given notice.
