WEAKNESSES
  • [-] Ungodly Slow
    • A downside to it's incredible size, the pace of the Regency is less than desirable, and though this handicap has been slightly made up for with the primary engine of the behemoth being the advanced Predator Interdiction Drives, they only barely make any difference in the field of battle.

    • With such a low fighter carrying capacity, the Regency would have depended on other vessels such as frigates and corvettes to fill in the holes within it's vulnerable airspace.
DESCRIPTION

Originally a concept design of the traitorous Tristan Evore, the Regency Class Star Battlecruiser was imagined to be the hammer to the Empire's anvil, an answer to the Eternal Navy's lack of dedicated Siege Platforms. Like most of the Anzati Warlords designs, nothing would have become of the Regency's original design until after the Admiral's departure. Confiscated by the Department of Advanced Weapons Research, the design would eventually find itself back on the drawing board, retrofitted in order to be successfully integrated into the new naval doctrine of the Eternal Empire.

The first of the many changes the warship would undergo would be an experimental hull design, a new method of forging a nigh impenetrable fortress of a battlecruiser thanks to the addition of Anti-Concussion Field Generators underneath a honey comb structured hull. With the capability of literally adjusting the density of the plating, the bridge crew would find the ablative armor included in the original design all but obsolete. Satisfied with the eternal systems of the Siege Battlecruiser, the design team would simply add the original prescription of layered shielding systems to complement their creation, and move on to the internal systems.

While not much would be changed with the ships layout, the discovery of bio-engineered organic circuitry would increase the vessels natural resistance to ion weaponry, and would be included in the final design, alongside a complement of other systems including Gravity Well Projectors, a Prototyper, a Molecular Furnace, numerous garment fabricators, duplicators, and synthesizers. In addition to that, the Command Deck would be internalized, containing both the Flight Bridge, Command Bridge, and Flag Bridge.

By the time the design team had finished and presented the new design to the Overseer of the Armed Forces and Strategic Command, the governing board approve the battlecruiser for deployment, although constricted thanks to the very nature of it's armament and exotic systems. Though no offical number has been released, it is generally believed that under twelve of these vessels exist at any given time, and as such are generally captained by high ranking members of the naval aristocracy.
