Release the Prisoners | Republic raid of Myrkr

Klesta

The King of Ergonomic Assessments
OOC thread

"Although it pains me to even consider such a thing, but a raid on a Mandalorian world is probably going to boost morale among the population"

"Senator, are you crazy? You are more of an economist than a raider" Klesta's staffer told him.

"If only Jessica was there... although overall command of the raid wouldn't fall on her, she'd still be one to go on a raid"

"Why Jessica in particular?"

"Jessica could impersonate a Mandalorian slicer or sniper just fine. Plus I think she acts more like a Mandalorian than I would like to admit"

"What's your role in it?"

"I would pretend to be negotiating a prisoner exchange while the lackeys in tow would attempt to steal schematics in orbit, and also free the prisoners I would be pretending to be negotiating for"

Essentially a repeat of Kuat Drive Yards in which Charzon et al attempted the very thing Klesta talks about. Maybe another team would attempt to free POWs from them. Sure Mandos wouldn't expect a Jawa senator to be there alongside them, but for far too long the Senate has been accused of taking a passive role in the conflict and he was there to remedy that. Even though corporate sabotage or theft wasn't *his* thing, he knew the Senate had to do something - and his Senatorial seat hinged on not only his record as Senator but also the record of the Senate as a whole. Hosnian Prime was as far away from the Mandos as far as Republican worlds could be, unlike Umbara. Senator Varta wasn't quite the same kind of Senator as he was. Klesta had to pray that the Mandos wouldn't be buying Utinni #1s. After hearing the tales of his fellow Jawas on Hosnian Prime, he had to be wary of anyone wearing Utinni #1. And Jessica, too, for she was known in the cosmetics circle as the creator of that perfume and that she naturally produces Jawa love pheromones.

"Is everything ready for your role in this, Senator?"

"Yes, ready when the raiding party is"

Klesta made it so that they would at least make it look as if there actually were prisoners of war to exchange against those the Mandos took. As the prisoners of war the Republic captured on Loronar, Nubia and Kashyyyk were already en route from Hosnian Prime, and forming up with Klesta's ship over Yutan, awaiting further instructions from him.

“They’re dreadful.”

Davon’s brutally honest appraisal of the events below caused several of the warriors around him to cringe. The Crusade needed more manpower and so reserves were being brought together to form new units. Unfortunately too many of the Karr warriors were deployed, which didn’t leave enough to flesh out the ranks in the new groups.

Every mandalorian was trained to fight. But the entire society couldn’t be entirely devoted to fighting all of the time. So these were member of Clan Karr of House Betna who had returned to more civilian pursuits.

Firing a gun, tracking, fighting, these weren’t problems. Yet when they’d tried to manoeuvre through a woods at a large level, or deploy a hasty defence against their droid opposition everything had come undone at the seams.

Myrkr was still relatively uninhabited, which made several areas exceptional for carrying out large scale training exercises.

“Alright, when they’ve finished have them make camp and set sentries. In the morning we’ll brief the officers and try and start to sort this shambles out.”

Davon shook his head slowly as he looked at the real time tactical display. An entire Company of vehicles was currently driving in circles, quite lost.
