FINAL DAWN
CSAUS, UNKNOWN REGIONS

Csaus, the site of one of the most devastating battles of the Second Great Hyperspace War where the Empire having recently entered the conflict after the Mawite-orchestrated assasination of their Sovereign Imperator, launched a surprise attack against the Sith Fortress of Darth Caelitus who had played a key role in the successful assasination attempt. During that battle, the large imposing Sith Fortress was reduced to rubble by the Imperials with its ruins being neglected and Mawite Activity on Csaus being reduced to the typical Cultist and Marauder Camps. Regardless, even then as the Maw faded into obscurity following its fragmentation at Exegol, Csaus and its history would not be forgotten as it would still be held in great regard by one man and his Mawite Splinter Group.

A Single Ommin-Class Command Shuttle proceeded to land within the snowy surface of Csaus, at a short walking distance away from the ruins of the once mighty Sith Fortress. Emerging from the Shuttle were 8 Raptor Commandos followed by none other than Marlon Sularen, the High Regent of the Final Dawn, who had come here to inspect the ruins and the site of the Battle of Csaus. As Sularen and his Protection Detail of Raptor Commandos began walking through the snowy terrain towards the Ruined Fortress, Sularen couldn't help but notice the many wrecks of Imperial Walkers and Mawite makeshift vehicles as well as the bodies of fallen Mawite and Imperial Soldiers that littered the surroundings, leftovers of the intense fighting that had occurred here years ago.

As he walked through the silent mass graveyard, the High Regent took some time to reflect on his past during the Second Great Hyperspace War, he had been so fixated on his desire to get retribution on those who wronged him and his ambitions to conquer the Core Worlds and Deep Core to accomplish said desire, that he had practically ignored many assaults carried out by other enemies of the Maw such as the Imperials. Maybe if he had paid some attention to those other threats, Caelitus’s Fortress would still be standing.

Regardless, the past was the past and there was nothing he could do about it but move forwards. As such, the High Regent and his Commandos pushed forward towards the Sith Fortress eager to carry out their mission.

Darth Titanius had not as much interest in the contemporary wars as he had in the conflicts of antiquity. The New Sith, the New New Jedi, Sith Eternal, Kainates, Maw, Ashlans, fake Eternal Empire, they were all hollow shells branded in a series of chaotic conflicts which the Galaxy was thrown into after the Bane'ites took over. Even the Cold War lasted as long as the NEW ORDER. It was pathetic. It was a shame. They lived in a time where they had access to probably the biggest amalgamation of knowledge and information the Galaxy had ever seen and yet they engaged in repeated mistakes, rebranded and twisted to mutilation.

The Maw was one of them and Lord Halketh a renowed member who was hit hard by the new Emperor and his Knights after killing the leader of the New Imperial Order. Another Imperial Order. How imaginative, rose from the last incantation of the Sith's Empire. Because of the ridiculous Sith-Imperial Doctrine and it is maintained!

But he was not here to lose himself in his rant of thoughts. He was in the entrance hall of the razed citadel to see if this necromancer had anything interesting to offer. If there was anything left what the Imperials did not take, did not plunder. Knowledge was worth everything, even if it was just there to be catalogued as a bad example, but it was still a source of experience.

So he had entered the castle and now walked with his cane gently clanking on the floor through what once were the great entrance halls.

On a rocky outcropping perhaps half a kilometer from Sularen and his escort, a modest force of black-clad Imperials observed the High Regent and his escort. A comparatively small figure with silver hair stared at the man through her binoculars, its blue eyes cool and calculating as it observed the man, the first time it had seen the man in person. Putting away its binoculars, the figure crossed its arms thoughtfully and paced back and forth as it did so.

Why would he come all the way out to this graveyard…and more importantly what was the Force trying to tell me by giving me a vision of him being here?

Aculia spent most of her days doing administrative work and meditating these days, keeping an eye on anything that could be a threat to her new Empire. This, of course, included monitoring Mawite remnants and other Imperial remnant factions, and occasionally she got a glimpse of insight into the future. That was what had brought her all the way out into the middle of nowhere today, a vergence in the Force surrounding the High Regent, an opportunity…but to do what?

Our default stance towards him has been one of hostility because of who he sided with at Tython. We had to assume he was simply insane to go along with the destruction of the galaxy and I know Alasdair has engaged his forces at least once. But he is one of the few active Imperial warlords of note around. If he could just be tamed somehow and brought into line…he could be a powerful ally.

“Sir, should we move to engage? One of our snipers has a clear shot on the target.”

“No…not for now. Let us see how this plays out. I think I will pay him a personal visit.” Aculia replied thoughtfully as she continued to watch the bearded dark-skinned man in his scarlet military uniform and schemed in her head.

FINAL DAWN
CSAUS, UNKNOWN REGIONS

As the High Regent and his Entourage approached Citadel Caelitus, they came across a small trench, most likely used by the defending Mawites against the the attacking Imperials. Upon closer inspection, the High Regent noticed that there was a makeshift entrance that led to a tunnel that went deep underground most likely connecting the trenches to the Necropolis that lay below the the Fortress which was said to house legions of undead warriors, with this tunnel most likely being utilized to deploy the Undead against the advancing Imperials.

Standing infront of the trench that contained the tunnel, Sularen pondered whether he should venture into the Necropolis and explore it a bit, which might even allow the High Regent to gain insight on Caelitus's Necromantic Experiments and access to his research in the field of Necromancy, which could come in handy for the Final Dawn in the near-future. Heck the idea of uncovering some of Caelitus's experiments made the High Regent recall his past partnership with another Sith Lord by the name of Credius Nargath who had experimented with the Blackwing Virus in the aftermath of an outbreak on Atrisia.

As such confronted with the possible benefits of gaining an insight on any research and information that Caelitus might have left behind, the High Regent motioned for his soldiers to follow him as he jumped down into the trench, heading straight for the tunnel leading into the Necropolis. With four Raptors moving ahead the High Regent and four others staying behind him, the small expedition pushed forwards ready to discover any secrets that lay deep within the Citadel's Necropolis.

Aculia tapped her feet against the ground as she considered observing Sularen’s movements. It did not initially seem like he had any particular objective here-what was this place to him? A tour down memory lane? She had done a little bit of research on the matter but besides the site of it being a Mawite-Imperial battle, she did not know much, and the destruction of records and the two and a half decades since Tython had not helped matters much there.

Suddenly, however, it seemed like he was giving orders, gesturing to something down in a trench. She turned her binoculars to where he was pointing. A makeshift tunnel of sorts leading underground into the large, ruined Mawite citadel. Soon enough, he and his little escort moved down, and into, the tunnel network, presumably towards the lower levels of the ruined fortress and whatever their objective here today was.

I doubt he came out the way out here just to reminisce about his past. Perhaps he left something of import here? Or knows of something that was unlikely to have been disturbed nearly three decades later? But what? What would survive this long, and be interesting enough for him to personally make the journey here? It seems that I will have to find out.

“Sir…?” her Deathtrooper captain, Revelden, quietly asked. It seems he could already guess what she had in mind.

“I know, Revel, I know. Going after Sularen into some tunnel network with little to no idea of what is inside is a bad idea. But I will be careful and have you stationed outside, should the worst happen and I need to be extracted, and I need to figure out what possessed him to come all the way here. I will take my commlink with me and transmit you the layout as I make my way through it so you can get to me quickly if something does go awry.”

Revelden nodded, although Aculia could sense his unease. She did not blame him-if she died or got seriously wounded here on this mission, he would be the one in trouble, not her.

“I’ll try my best, Revel, truly.” She said, giving him a soft smile before pulling up the hood of her cloak. “Wait near the entrance, keeping an eye out for any further interlopers-tell me if you detect any immediately. Sularen’s a popular target these days. Keep out of sight, do not guard it directly, but set up in the ruins around it and await further instructions about whether or not to engage.”

“Yes sir!”

With that, Aculia and her Deathtroopers made their way down from their rocky outcropping to the trench, after pausing to make sure Sularen had not stationed any of his troops outside or was coming out relatively quickly. Her Deathtroopers took up their position in the various ruined vehicles and bombed out structures around the tunnel’s entrance. And with that, Aculia, hood up and lightsaber at the ready in her hand, slowly made her way into the darkness of the tunnel system.

Hopefully we can get out of here without one or both of us ending up with this being our grave. I would rather have an ally than a corpse at the end of the day.

As Sularen and his Raptors went deeper into the tunnel they eventually came across across a foul odor, as they began to feel cold, a sign that they we're approaching the Necropolis as the High Regent was familiar with this phenomenon, having travelled to numerous places tainted by the Dark Side, such as Exegol, the Maw's Gehinnom I and II Battlestations, Asog and Epoch not to mention he had previously ruled the Deep Core World of Byss which itself was tainted by a large Dark Side Nexus. It was quite a miracle that the High Regent was still sane after all these years considering his numerous experiences with Sith Lords, although these experiences had given the High Regent alot of insight on the inner workings of Sith Lords along with their philosophy and ideology, which could prove to be useful in the future.

Eventually, the Tunnel would lead straight to a larger pathway, from which at that point, the odor had grown stronger and more foul. As they reached the intersection, the Four Raptors infront of the High Regent quickly moved ahead to verify whether it was safe for the High Regent and the rest of the Expedition to move forwards while the two Raptors at the very rear of the group kept watch at the small tunnel behind them. "Clear" Shouted one of the Four Raptors at the front. "Clear" the Two Raptors at the rear repeated. As the High Regent entered the larger pathway, he took a while to look at his surroundings, noticing at how the Walls we're stained with Blood and Runic Sith Language indicating that it was indeed a part of the Necropolis.

While most people would have difficulty navigating the Necropolis, Sularen had the privilege of being a High-Ranking Officer within the Final Dawn when the Sith Fortress was first built, giving him access to the entire structure's blueprints which he had memorized for this very occasion. "This way" Sularen said, facing one side of the Pathway, "This will take us to our destination." he added. "Keep an eye out for any bodies, Caelitus was known for experimenting on the dead and the living alike." Sularen warned as the he and his small entourage pushed forwards through the Pathway. "We have no idea on what to expect down here, so stay sharp." he added. Sularen knew well that the Necropolis was filled with the dead and undead alike, whom we're subject to the dark experiments of Darth Caelitus. While the High Regent preferred to avoid any bodies, especially any undead Mawites left behind, it would be advantageous if he and his party found at the very least one undead Mawite whom they could utilize for further experiments in the future.

Aculia made her way into the labyrinthine underground tunnels, maintaining a Force cloak as she did so just in the event she ran into some unforeseen Mawites still lurking in the place. She was not too worried, but it always paid to be careful now, rather than pay the price for carelessness later. She kept an eye on Sularen and his escort’s general whereabouts through the Force, but did not tail them too closely. After all, the High Regent was known for his cunning, and she doubted he came all the way here without some kind of backup.

Creepy place this, and strong in the Dark Side as well, though as far as I am aware, Sularen isn’t particularly sensitive to the Force. That means he is here for something else. What? What is still around after nearly thirty years of scavengers and who knows what lurking about? It has to be a weapon of some sort, he would not personally come and risk himself otherwise. But this whole structure feels…off…it cannot be some kind of conventional ordnance.

This whole thing was rather puzzling to her at the moment, hopefully she would learn more as she followed in his wake. And perhaps pick up something that could benefit her own little warlord state, even if Sularen was not amenable to working together in some capacity. At the very least, the new Inquisitors Sesara had been training would love this kind of place, steeped in the Dark Side of the Force and filled with the sense of death, it could be a place to trap the errant and arrogant Jedi who were becoming more and more of a problem for her these days.

As Sulren and his party advanced, the Raptor at the front quickly raised his hand and immediately all the Raptors halted with the one behind Sularen pulling him gently, motioning him to stop. "We have movement up ahead." he said. Up ahead a dark figure could be seen walking slowly towards the group. The Two Raptors at the front of the Group quickly took aim at the figure before taking a while to adjust their vision in order to get a better grasp of the situation. "It's an Undead Mawite for sure. Most likely a leftover of Halekth's Undead Army." the Raptor said.

"Aren't Halketh's Undead Creatures part of some hive-mind or something?" Sularen inquired. That caused the two Raptors at the front to immediately hesitate from shooting the figure, what if the High Regent was right, what if killing the creature would awaken any other bodies left behind. "Halketh has been dead for a while and his Undead Soldiers have been left behind to rot here for years." Another Raptor said. "The Chances of there being an entire army of the undead down here are very low, considering the fact that the Empire brought down the Citadel a while back."

All the Raptors looked at the High Regent for a final decision leaving Sularen with a somewhat difficult decision. However before he could make the decision, the Creature had managed to creep up at a close distance to lunge at one of the Lead Raptors. A Combination of rapid reflexes enabled the Raptor to immediately hold off the Undead Creature's attack by putting his right arm against the Creature's throat and then throwing a punch straight at the Creature's face before extending the hidden
Kamikiri Blade from his Cybernetic Arm, which stabbed through the skull of the Undead Mawite as it extended from the Raptor's Arm. With his other arm he activated it's Kamikiri Blade pushing back the Undead Mawite before swiftly decapitating it causing the rest of the body to fall back into the ground limp and motionless.

"Well that's one way to solve the problem." Sularen said as he stepped forward to reach the Raptors at the front "Can we still use the creature's head?" he inquired. "Considering at how i just stabbed it in the head i don't think so." the Raptor responded. "Very well then, let's move forward, we're near our destination and keep an eye out for any more Undead Mawites. I hope we didn't awaken the rest of them, if there are any others out there"
