As I looked up at the old, now condemned palace, a dark and confusing feeling of loss took me back to another time. The flags no longer flew proudly off of every building on the street. The movement of mechanical AT-ST feet patrolling the streets was no longer there. The constant broadcasts controlled by the best in the news business were no longer playing in every cantina on the planet. Instead, this was one of the only few memories that Coruscant had of its old Empire. It was long forgotten by the Galaxy. A relic of another time.
I was long forgotten.
My squadmates were long gone.
The purpose was all gone.
The peace, justice, and security, was all gone.
There was no longer one central controlling body that kept everyone in check. Now, there were thousands of governments across the galaxy. The Silver Jedi order, The Sith Empire, The Confederacy of Independent Systems, The Outer Rim Coalition, the Corellian Confederation. Each bickered at one another. None were kept in check. Every force moved at its own pace, conquering planet by planet for all of their "different" causes. They were all the same. Each one of them thought they were different from one another, but they were all exactly the same. They all thought they were right in their own way. Anyone that was unaffiliated could easily tell that none of them were right.
After a brief flashback to a much happier time, I sighed and put my helmet on, booting up its HUD and walking the halls of the ruin. It was quiet, possibly one of the only buildings on the entire planet that didn't see much activity. There was no effort to restore it. There was no effort to destroy it. It slowly crumbled away by itself, and I hated it. It almost drove me insane seeing the Palace like this.
Even though I thought I could navigate the building that was so close to me, it was long gone. Unfamiliar, actually. Rats scurried by my feet as I walked, hiding in the darkness.
I missed everyone.
Somehow, I found myself near one of the many spires, looking out of a shattered window out to the bustling planet outside. It was like I was on two different worlds. The one I was on would never, ever be the same. Somehow, I had to adapt to a galaxy I had never seen before. I had absolutely no idea where to start, which made things even worse.
