Faction Remembering the Fallen (Wild Space Exiles)

On board the Skyfall, Flagship of the Imperium Navy

Edric stood before the others assembled, doing his duty as the King of Kesh, even if the planet had fallen. Millions had died, including his own father. Business built up over decades cast down in days, homes lived in for centuries, everything the Keshiri had built up had been torn down. The Artifacts and the people had been salvaged though, large scale evacuations having spared a great many but those who had remained behind to fight were most certainly gone now. Some would still be in hiding, still fighting on the planet and waiting for the time to return. The Secret networks and caves throughout the planet made it impossible to wipe out the entire people... but that was something for another day.

For now, the peoples of the Imperium made way to a world that would support them, a world that would house them and one connected to the former leader of the Imperium before his death. That was their destination but before even that could happen, those who died needed to be laid to rest and that was what the fleet would be doing. The Remnants of the fleet holding services, memorials, and on the flagship itself a dedication and promise to those who had died was being erected, a wall of the ship holding the number of people lost, no names, just the number as Edric stared.

He sighed, wondering if something could have been done to change this outcome, but knowing that such creatures would find their deaths eventually. They would strike at the wrong group and when they did they would fall apart. He could only hope that such an event would occur sooner than later before too many more joined the dead.

She didn't give two chits about the fact that they had lost to giant space monsters. They had promised to come and help them, and the help had been provided, but it had not been enough for the situation on the planet. The monsters had overtaken everything, and even extraction could only have happened at a great loss of additional lives. Not that she cared about those. Collateral damage was collateral damage and it wasn't her people that were dying in the numbers.

But they'd had a deal. A deal in which, in return for their help, if Kesh were a victory, the Kashews would abandon their other territories and stick only to their planet, forgoing the game of conquest.

Scherezade had expected, after their retreat, that they would go to one of the territories which they'd still held. After all, thing that look close on a map can sometimes take a long while to travel to. But when they left hyperspace and she checked the maps, she knew that they weren't anywhere near there now. The area had been abdicated.

Her nostrils flared.

Millions might have died, but there were still more than enough left to make this a potentially dangerous trip.

Glowing green eyes narrowed as she leaned against the wall and crossed her arms across her chest. Sooner or later, their purpose in this part of the galaxy would be revealed. And they had better prayed that it was a good enough excuse.

Zesiro had not been present on Kesh when the attack happened. At the request of Edric, she had taken Hannah to Coruscant and far away from home. All to keep them safe. It had been a good thing too since far too many lives had been lost. The largest was that of Solan. Her father in law and grandfather to Hannah.

He wasn't the only person that had died that day, but he was the most important. Solan had founded a legacy and she was just a part of it. With Edric, she helped rule and run the government. His father had retired and with the help of advisors, her husband ruled.

Even though she hadn't been there, she was on board the Skyfall for this ceremony. A funeral and celebration of life. There were no names on the wall in front of them. Only a number. Looking at Edric, she stood next to him. They were united and she didn't want to leave him alone.

She had no memory of her own father, but she had cared for Solan. That man had adopted Edric and his sister. He meant something to her husband and she was here to support him.

Their refugees from Kesh were on this and various other ships. Delegates were here for the ceremony and she looked over those that had taken her in and helped her to become the woman and Lady she was today.

If he would allow it, she would give his hand a squeeze. Just so he would be aware that she was present.
