Ramyna was born to a spice addicted mother and a father who desperately wanted to be in her life but was kept away. She was raised in extreme poverty in a two room shack on the outskirts of a jungle village on Lao-mon, a tropical planet covered in rainforests.
As a child, Ramyna was often left alone and had to fend for herself as her mother jumped from one bed to the next, selling herself to support her addiction. Meanwhile, Ramyna would wander into the village and steal food to fill her empty stomach. She was so desperate at times that she would hide near the garbage shoots behind local restaurants and eat from the discarded food as it filled the waste bins.
Once Ramyna was old enough to attend school, she had hope that her life would begin to change. Unfortunately, she was unable to be enrolled as her mother could not even afford her a public education. Ramyna was resourceful however, and found ways to use her shapshifting abilities to her advantage so she could sneak into various classes. It was by this method that the girl learned how to read and write a plethora of languages.
As Ramyna aged, her abilities as a shapeshifter grew. She began to accept work that utilized her skills in exchange for credits, weapons and gear. She worked with various blasters, teaching herself the finer points of marksmanship. Over time, her talents caught the attention of the Lao-mon Intelligence Agency and she was recruited to join their ranks.
A number of years into her service to the LIA, Ramyna's mother died suddenly of an apparent drug overdose. She finally felt free to pursue a relationship with her father and in doing so, found the man in poor health. While the two were thrilled to be reunited at last, it was obvious that without immediate medical intervention, their time together would be short. Ramyna took it upon herself to be the old Shi'ido's caretaker, using her income and influence to provide him with every comfort possible.
Little did Ramyna know, her father had troubles of his own beyond his health and had gone in deep with a money laundering scheme in an attempt to make a better life for himself. On the day his secret life came back to bite him, the young Shi'ido was at his side. A Chiss by the name of Malicar gave the man a choice to give up his daughter or give up his life. The choice was obvious and so Ramyna went with Malicar, leaving her father in the care of strangers, having only spent a few short years with the man she had longed to know all of her life.
Though angry and hurt, she cooperated for the sake of her father. She was taken in by Malicar and instructed to keep a close watch on his cousin, to learn how to adopt her appearance and mannerisms. Unbeknownst to the Shi'ido, the Chiss had his relative killed and eventually was made to take her place. In doing so, Ramyna assumed the woman's identity and the name Vesnam'remi'raith going by Remi Demora for the sake of business or simply, Remi.
In her new role as Malicar's cousin, Remi is a Master Agent of the CEID. She has a great deal of wealth and freedom, though she is not free to leave. She keeps herself immersed in her work, enjoying the lifestyle and the benefits that come with it though she self-medicates when the stress is overwhelming, particularly the stress that comes from thoughts of her father and his wellbeing in her absence.
PERSONALITY
Remi is cocky and cool. She has a great deal of quiet charisma and has the spirit of a lone wolf. She believes that if you want something done right, it's best to do it yourself. She absolutely hates having to rely on anyone else for anything, but she also knows that this is a necessary component in her line of work.
After living such a difficult life, Remi has little to no sympathy for others. Her heart is hard and she believes that if she could overcome her circumstances, anyone can. She believes that those who complain about their lot in life are weak and are not worth the air they breathe. Remi is irritated by most other living organisms, only tolerating those closest to her.
APPEARANCE
Remi is a Shi'ido first and when in her natural form has grey skin, a wide mouth and dark deep set eyes. She has spent the better portion of her life in the form of a human, which she finds most comfortable. Though a great deal of her work requires her to assume the likeness of a multitude of species, she typically reverts to that of a short human woman with blonde hair and green eyes. In the form of a Chiss, she is short with blue skin, red eyes and black hair.
SKILLS/WEAKNESSES
Shapeshifting – Remi is a gifted shapeshifter. She can take on nearly any form though she typically does so at or less than her actual body size. Though she can make herself larger, doing so can lead to several physical issues such as being stuck in a particular form for several weeks or months. She can quickly take on the physical appearance of dozens of species as well as adopt their language and mannerisms. A special form of telepathy unique to the Shi'ido allows them to project a scent or visual to cover any inconsistencies that may occur within their transformations. Remi must be careful when using this ability as it takes a great deal of concentration and if distracted, she could lose control over her entire facade and blow her cover.
Infiltration – Remi is a talented spy, having been in the line of work for nearly three centuries. Security procedures, secret communication techniques and black bag operations are just a few areas she exercises a great deal of knowledge. She is skilled in lock picking and safe cracking. Perhaps her greatest asset is her ability to adopt a variety of forms as she has been used as a honey trap more often than not, luring a target in with one of her attractive personas as a means to coerce an individual into divulging secret information.
Marksmanship – Remi is a skilled marksman. She is quick on the draw and is an incredibly accurate shot. Though trigger happy in her younger years, she has learned some self-control and generally asks questions first before shooting.
Emotions – Remi is a spitfire. She wears her emotions, particularly anger, on her sleeve. If she is in a good mood she's either high or someone is about to die. Her emotions cloud her judgement at times and it is in these moments she makes poor decisions and her skills falter.
Addiction – Remi struggles with her own spice addiction after having spent a majority of her life surrounded by addicts. When Remi is under the influence of drugs, she struggles to hold unfamiliar forms in shapeshifting and her marksmanship goes out the window.
