- Heavy Hitter: Armed with an array of heavy and medium strength turbolasers, the Romulus destroyer is more than capable of going toe-to-toe with ships in and around its own weight class.
- Low Fighter Escort: Possessing only a single small ventral hangar bay, the Romulus can only hold a maximum of one strike-fighter squadron and two support squadrons; primarily short-range gunships and boarding transports.
Named after one of the original Sith, Remulus Dreypa, the Remulus-class Sith Destroyer was a smaller class of Star Destroyer produced by Quarren engineers from the oceanic world of Mon Cala. Featuring a body similar to the ancient Providence-class Dreadnought and its modern contemporaries, the destroyer also incorporates sharp angular Imperial designs to create a blended fusion of both Imperial and Quarren design ideologies.
This unique profile allows the Remulus to maximize both forward fire and broadsides, with bristling rows of cannons flanking both starboard and port, and a tiered system of heavy cannons on both the dorsal and ventral side.
The gothic superstructure design is a clear homage to the ancient designs of the Sith Empire during the Great Hyperspace War and was meant to invoke feelings of sea-faring vessels like the ones seen on Mon Cala's surface.
Like the ancient Providence, the primary deck was situated towards the front of the vessel and was protected by clusters of point-defense cannons and an angled hull. The secondary bridge and communications tower was situated near the back and was the most visible part of the entire ship. This was mostly done to create a distraction, putting up the secondary bridge as bait to protect the more crucial primary bridge from attack.
