Renovating with a Couch

Planet: Carida
Locations: Republic City, Senate Building
Vice Chancellor Office

The movers had left now, and Tobias just looked at the new Couch he had received as a gift from someone. They had not added a name, but he liked the style that it was and decided to have it instailed in his office that was becoming too rooming for him. He more enjoyed his quarters as a Marshal Commander, the military style was more appealing. However, this was politics now and he was not allowed to have a bed within his office so this little relaxing couch would do good for those long nights.

As he moved to his desk his mind drifted to Grandmaster [member="Alexandra Feanor"] and her Jedi Enclave. Little information was coming out of her little order, and it only made him more curious.

He would have to move his thought to another subject at the moment, a new vote was coming to the Senate that was rather important. They needed to move the 5th Sector Fleet to either Rendilli or Leria Kerlsil to deal with the Sith Terrorist, the military was spread too thin and could only send in the newly formed Fleet to deal with the problems. The 1st and 4th Fleets were to deal with the threat that was Commenor at the call of the Rebels, but that was still unclear and they could not allow the Sith to attack Neimoidia if they took their eyes off them too quickly.

He was deep in thought at the moment, not realizing the things that were happening around him till it was too late.

Alexandra had been bored and decided it was about time she met the Vice Chancellor, though as most knew her for doing, making an appointment was a bit too much of a hassle and she preferred meeting the man without that being handled. She of course waited to be sure the man was not mid meeting, her feet pacing and eyes looking up towards the office of the man from the ground, studying it for a few seconds.

The Senate Chambers were remarkably similar to those of the old days of the Republic, the building a symbol and she understood what it meant to see it for those who stood for the Republic. It was a source of pride and strength for those defending the ideas that provided the Republic with strength and their spirit. Her hands rested behind her as she paced for a few more seconds before her feet carried her forward and way from the outside world, her body melding into the air and vanishing as she moved through space.

For a second, Tobias would hear the world behind him more clearly, as if he were outside but that would cut out nearly immediately, a trick of the mind most likely.

Atleast thats what would likely cross his mind until the voice of a woman looking over his shoulder, staring down at the files he had out and raising a brow as she saw her own. It was Alexandra, appearing behind him as if she were some ghost, youthful and almost innocent looking as she smile softly and held that humored expression at seeing he was looking into her.

"Interesting, I didn't know I had an admirer in the Senate. I must say you honor me." She said, her eyes sliding now to look at him, not having moved from where she was standing, even if he himself did move away from her.

The Vice Chancellor felt a little off balance for a second as his mind wondered through the many Reports. Before he knew it he was looking a SIS Report on Grandmaster [member="Alexandra Feanor"]. The details were of the progress of the Republic Enclave and the recruitment efforts of them becoming an Order of the Highest Esteem. He remembered there was a lot of inconstant information on the women, a lot of it not having the evidence to support it.

It was at this time that he heard the voice and he instantly reached for the Vorta below his desk. Letting go as soon as he realized it was the Grandmaster sneaking into his office. "Dont flatter yourself too must Master Feanor," He turned his seat around and locked his screen. "I only want to make sure our investment of bringing the Jedi along for the ride is worth the risk in the near future."

"Shame, here I thought I had a bit of an admirer. Oh well."

She retreated a few steps, letting Tobias turn his chair without hinderance from her or anything getting in his way. When he was turned, she leaned against the window and looked out it, watching the ground below and the people running around, their bodies the size of ants from up here. She always enjoyed the way something changes based on how one sees it.

Her eyes then returned to Tobias and she smiled, giving him a rather genuine appearance for the woman. She was after all just someone who didn't know what they were doing, given a second chance at life and as part of that a new youth to experience.

"I didn't quite get a good look at that file but I assume it was pertaining to myself and the order, considering that you already mentioned the risk involved with housing a Jedi Order. If you so wish, why not uses this moment afforded to us to update that document of yours and show me just what you are curious about. Though I must request you avoid any topics like my favorite food. Haven't had dinner yet and a hungry stomach would impede the progress of our talk."

Tobias only chuckled a little as the Grandmaster of the Jedi Enclave, [member="Alexandra Feanor"], stated that all his funding and intelligence gathering was a waist as he could have just asked. There were a ton of hidden secrets that many of the Jedi kept close to their chest, however, Republic SIS was good at their work.

He opened his desk and brought out two things, one was a data-tablet that he placed on the desk. The other was a bottle of Naboo Royal Scotch that he left there sitting. "One thing we were able to get out was that you and Master Halle rather enjoy your liquor, and many Republic Specialist say drinking staves off hunger." He pulled out two glasses to go with them.

The Vice Chancellor was not a dumb man. Cold, Calculated, and Decisive was the only words he knew when dealing with the world he grew up in. He was the generation that grew up with the hard and rugged lifestyle that was life after the plague had rolled through. And one of the startling finds from the file was something he would like to take a shot at and learn more.

Pouring a glass for the both of them he leaned back, "I think it would be fair that if I ask a question, you can ask one of me," He nodded while taking a sip. His eyes avoided the master for a second as he emptied his mind and put up his natural defenses against the mind modifications a Force User could do. When he was confident of his ability his yellow pupils locked onto the Jedi Master, "Some of our Records indicate you were part of the previous Republic, served with the Jedi Order of old before the collapse," He paused for a second and then leaned forward, "The Order of old were very strong advocates that often jumped the gun and not only got a lot of soldiers killed, but caused trillions of deaths on civilians and planets alike, my biggest concern is that this new Enclave will do the same and pray on the fears that are culminating in the Core Worlds."

He only picked up his drink again, "What are your plans for the Jedi Enclave Alex Feanor," He lifted the drink up to his lips then paused, "You dont mind me calling you that do you?" With the answer he took another sip of his scotch on the rocks.

Alexandra laughed when liquor was brought up and she looked over at the man, peering past him and thinking before he got to the meat of what he had.

It was when the question finally came that she wanted to laugh... well the information rather. It was humorous and before Tobias would even get his question in she would cut him off, quick to inform him just how incorrect his information was. It wasn't odd, to have such drastically wrong information, especially when Alexandra was an enigma to all those that did not know her personally.

She had never been a Jedi after all, infact, quite the opposite.

"You seem to be quite mistaken Tobias. I never joined the Jedi Order, never fought for them and never supported them. I have indeed used the lightside and followed it for decades at this point, but that is all. What would have been far more accurate would be to consider me a Sith, as it was them that I had fought for and served under during the Jedi Order of old." She was blunt, honest and to the point, staring him in the eyes to let him know she was telling the truth.

"Now, what was that question you wished to ask, or do you have a different one?"

-- He leaned back in his seat as the women took her place on his new couch. It seemed she had no problem getting fitted into a comfortable position in his office. He only continued to sit there looking at [member="Alexandra Feanor"]. The information on the Grandmaster really was not as reliable as he had presumed. R-SIS was relatively new, and many of the operatives were from many different backgrounds and alliances, they had their own sources and often kept that information to themselves.

-- Tobias began again, "If you were never a Jedi before, how are you so well respected by the many other Force Organizations," He scrolled through the data, "Grandmaster of the Silver Jedi, your predecessor, the Ex-Grandmaster of the Silvers, I even have reports of the Alliance Traitor and Puppet Queen Miss Raaf holds you in great esteem, even the Leader of the Separatist utters your name in acknowledgement," He placed the Data-Tablet on the table again and looked at the women, "Many of these individuals are considered dangerous to the further development of the New Republic, you must understand many of the planets are worried the Jedi will pull the same stunt that befell the Alliance."

-- The Reptilian man leaned forward in his seat, "The Jedi Order is considered a Religious Order within the New Republic, but this government will not be an army for a Jedi Crusade against the Sith, does this government have reason to fear the Jedi will drag them into an unwinnable war before we are ready?"

Alexandra listened to [member="Tobias Dracks"] with interest, hear him list off the names of many that Alexandra had come to know. Including that of her closest friend Taeli Raaf. The woman had always been someone Alex could rely on to provide her with an alternate look on life, a fact Alex knew would not change. Pair that with the others the man had mentioned and a curious picture begins to form.

“The Jedi within the Republic, Vice Chancellor are citizens within the Republic, holding their own beliefs and understanding about those around them. Some are law enforcement on their home planet, some military enlisted and officers in the Republic. Perhaps one will eventually become a Senator, perhaps something more. My order is not the NJO or the Silvers, we are not the Army of Light or the Jedi of the Galactic Republic.” She sat up a bit straighter, eyes focusing on the man as she continued.

I have led a long and painful life, learning that this galaxy has been testing me and molding me. I’ve seen the falls of the Lords of the Fringe and the Sith, the CIS and the Galactic Republic. Through that time I have learned a great deal about the Light, and the Dark, and that there exists a delicate balance which must be upheld. That is why so many know me, because I am no Jedi, even now in most regards. I am a historian and teacher, but also the force’s student and servant. I can assure you that my Order is no danger to your people, and you can consider myself at your beck and call.”

-- He tossed the Data-Tablet onto the desk and had it slide to its final resting place next to other tablets. Nodding he accepted this, the Republic Senate would have to accept this.

-- "The Republic is built for new beginnings Alexandra, personally I do not care too much about a persons past," He looked at [member="Alexandra Feanor"] sitting on the coach. He stood and walked over to her side and turned to face out the window looking out to the capital. "I do not want to rely on the Jedi to much, my mentor had told me that the Jedi way was not as a warrior but as a scholar and philanthropist, I wish to bring about an age of peace for the Republic and possibly the galaxy."

-- He did not even look at the women next to him, "I trust the Jedi," Then his eyes drifted to make contact with hers, "You a little less due to breaking and entering," He let out a little chuckle without smiling, looking back at the early dusk setting of the sun that the planet rotated around. "I am creating an outreach organization and was wondering if the Jedi would be interesting in helping get this project off the ground."

-- As if from thin air he pulled out another Data-Tablet and placed it on the couch, then started to walk back to his desk. "Its called the Galactic Red Cross Organization, giving the Republic a more active role in a galactic stage without government oversight thanks to our freedom of the Citizenry."

Alexandra raised a brow as he spoke of new beginnings and for a moment her eyes flickered to the place where it had landed before returning to the man as he turned to look out at the capital through the window. Just as she had become interesting to him, he was interesting to her and she found herself wondering just what went on in the mind of that man. He was someone that she had not gotten to meet in many years and a person that she finds quite interesting.

It was when he spoke of trysting the Jedi and then her a little less considering her actions that made her grin slightly but wonder what more went on in this man's head. Politicians never spoke the whole truth, a lesson she had learned many years before and knew well. She perhaps could have been one at one point, her eyes glancing to the desk and the chair behind it. She might have been sitting there if she took a different path, or maybe down the future. Such thoughts made her wonder but then her eyes turned back on Tobias as he spoke further.

"I cannot speak for all Jedi, seeing as we are not one order with one mind. My colleagues are no more than a civilian, or a soldier, or a politician and I am so as well. Even as Grandmaster, that does not change this fact and merely puts me in a place to speak on the needs of the order, but not its mind." She thought on the idea though, her hand coming to push her hair back and hold there.

"An answer you deserve though. I would find it unlikely that my jedi would not help those who are in need. Your Organization would certainly find those interested within my order, but a blanket promise to you would be beyond my power."
