Hangar:
- Fighter/Bomber Squadrons x 3
- Shuttles x 4
- Power output: Peak: ~9,28 × 1024 W (20% more power than the ISD-I back in the day) Boosting more power for its small size over its contemporaries, the Republic Class has more energy to spare to boost their shield system.
- Rendili Experimental Shields: Despite the lack of clever naming, the experimental shield generator the Republic Class sports is a slight reference to the unit created in the joint project with Chandrila DataTech for the Naboo. While not as strong due to power constraints and design deviations, the Republic Class's shield systems is two and a half times more powerful than average.
- HIMS: A system designed to allow a vessel to resist artificial gravity well generators, the HIMS unit gives the Republic Class the ability to maintain hyperspace travel with much finer control than a ship without.
- Life Support: A nod to the non-humans in the Republic Military, the Republic Class's life support system can adjust in certain sections for crew not favorable to standard atmosphere.
Speed Rating: 14
Hyperdrive Class: 2
Backup Drive Class: 10
Strengths:
+Deceptively Strong: The Republic Class boosts a more powerful than average Hypermatter Reactor, boosting its energy output by 20% over larger, though older, destroyers. As such both its shields, already enhanced by an experimental shield generator, and its weapon systems have much more power to spare.
+Handyman: While not excelling in any one field, the Republic Class is capable of filling many roles and as such is a ready vessel to deploy and its production value allows it to be more readily replaced if damaged or destroyed.
+Where's it Coming From: Because of its bulbous and rather hideous appearance, the Republic Class's weapon blisters are harder to discern from the rest of the bumps and bulbs of the hull. Making it dangerous to approach lest cannonfire take out one's starfighters and even small cruisers.
+HIMS: That's right the Republic Class has a karaoke bar. . . .no wait wrong hymns the Republic Class sports a device that allows it to pass through active, artificially created, Gravity Well Fields and deploy in proper fashion.
Weaknesses:
-Prolific: The Republic class, aside from its odd framework, exposes its bridge in a rather plain manner. While not a terrible flaw, it does put risk on the commanding crew of the vessel and threatens its function.
-No Missile Benefits: Lacking any missile weaponry at all, the Republic Class does not have the benefits that come from those sources of damage.
-Awkward Skeleton: While the Republic Class boasts more impressive shields than previous Rendili Stardrive warships, its bulbous shape leaves its inner hull structure weak against kinetic strikes. The ship thusly feels more stress on the frame from mass drivers once shields are depleted.
Description: An improved upon version of the Republic Class design, Rendili Stardrive (work credited to the Voss/Shri-Tal Yards) has once more released one of their previous works after intense modification. At first glance the only apparent alteration to the line is the new paint job the vessels sport, coated in dazzling red decor following other, older, Rendili designs. However, while the paint job fails to completely disguise the Republic Class's questionable bulbous appearance, the pocket destroyer packs much more surprises than it did in more aged iterations. Enough to compete heavily with other ships in its tonnage and those slightly above it.
Now boasting more, heavier, ion cannon batteries and an array of defensive weaponry including point defense emplacements and heavy laser cannons, the Republic Class is a more impressive slugger than it was in its original production. However, not only that, but the Republic Class is fitted with an experimental shield generator, utilizing technology in its reactor design that harkens to the Praesidium Project Rendili recently undertook, giving it more output to dedicate to the shields while still maintaining power for the fire control. Though not as powerful as the actual other project's shield system, the Republic Class still has impressive defensive capabilities considering its power constraints for other systems.
Still unsatisfied with the current features though, the technicians of the Voss yards and engineers of Shri-Tal were compelled to install a HIMS unit onto the destroyer as well, going all out to make the vessel worthy of bearing the name of the galactic power it would serve.
