High Stopping Power: The 5.7x28mm cartridge used by the SWPS is notorious for its large stopping power and armor penetration, particularly with large caliber rounds
Fast Reload Speed: With its flared magwell and ambidextrous magazine and slide release the SWPS is fair easy and quick to reload
Rugged and Reliable: Due to its need to operate in any climate or place the SWPS is a very rugged and reliable
Low Rate of Fire: Due to the high recoil of the SWPS the designers purposely limited its fire rate to keep it controllable
High Recoil: Due to the large size of the bullet and the propellant needed to fire the bullet the SWPS has a high amount of recoil
Next they decided on what materials would be used. For this they decided on the old saying of “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.” They used their trademark lightweight high-impact polymer for the shell of the pistol to help shave weight off. A patented titanium-alusteel alloy was used for the inner mechanisms for its low weight and durability. Cold hammer forged quadanium steel was used for the barrel to minimize muzzle climb during prolonged fire. Finally the barrel was lined with chromium to add even more durability to the barrel.
Once all the technical aspects were finished the weapons more tactical features began to take shape. The barrel was threaded to allow a suppressor to be attached to it for more stealthy operations. Ambidextrous operating features were added to allow the weapon to operated using either hand. A flared magwell was added for easier insertion of magazines. A textured grip was installed to give operators a more firm grip on the weapon. Finally a bottom mounted laser/light rail was added for extra tactical use. In all the SWPS is a good sidearm for special operators.
