When I say the words The Republic, what do you think of?

• The Old Republic
• The New Republic
• The Galactic Republic Player Faction

Because. They are all different. Different stories, different people, different mythos, different blessings, and different sins. But for some reason we like to lump them all together in our converstaions. We say, The Republic, and expect one word to cover thousands of years of time and action, in an instant. We say: Well... The Republic did it. Who? Which Republic? There are a lot of them out there. And yes. They are all different.

Look at it this way. If you think American Democracy sucks? Don't bash other countries democracies just because the Americans did it. They ain't the same horse. Heck, these horses don't even get along. See what I mean?

So. When I say the words: The Republic? Can you tell who I'm talking about? ...Exactly.

They're entirely different from all incarnations of canon, especially from the New Republic and Post-Ruusan Reformation Old Republic eras. If anything, they have a greater amount of similarities to the Old Republic during the era of Ulic Qel-Droma and Exar Kun, though I suppose the entire site has a strange affinity for that era of time.

So basically Old Republic (Y'know, the games) Middle Republic (From the first three films [as in one two three]) and new republic (Lukes era).


I liked Lukes era the best for the republic. He understood. Jedi weren't limited like they were in the Middle repub, and like on this site.
