"Esteemed fellow senators, chancellor, I beg your indulgence for a few remarks of a personal nature.
"My second term as Senator of Eshan has been an honour and a privilege. The good men and women of the Finance and Judiciary Committees have kept us all safe from threats that none of us saw coming, and I've been honored to serve alongside them. Senator Callas, I salute you.
"However, on the advice of my physician, and due to pressing family obligations, I will no longer be able to serve as chair of the Finance Committee...nor as Senator of Eshan. It seems the injuries I sustained in combat against the Sith were more serious than I had hoped. Many others experienced far worse injuries; some, including people I care about, may never recover.
"It is with regret that I resign my seat in the Senate of the Galactic Republic. Thank you, and may the Force be with you."
