OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create the official location where the surviving Resu of the Morossian Contact Event, and from the Resuspawn Horde (pending judgment), made an exodus to, lead by [member="Iron Giant"] and her new found comrade, [member="Bryce Bantam"] who had originally discovered the system. Also, to provide an official head quarters for the Resu Navigation Guild (and eventually CybeResu Security Guild).

  • Planet Name: Originally "Lozeg", but is known as "Resu Exodus" by its present occupants
  • Demonym: Resu Exile
  • Region: Outer Rim
  • System Name: Resu Exodus
  • System Features: Gas Giant with fifty moons, one of which is Resu Exodus (alternatively, Lozeg), orbiting a yellow star. There are four other unexplored planets in the system.
  • Coordinates: 7, 28 (Hex next to Resu)

  • Major Imports: Ships, Technology, Weapons
Major Exports: Metallic Liquid Hydrogen (extracted from gas giant) and related technology, ship retrofitting, navigational services on appropriately modified ships, appropriate security forces for Guild Navigation Suites
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
  • Gravity: Roughly 1/3rd Standard
  • Climate: Frozen icy surface with a "Type IV" nonexistent atmosphere, encasing a subsurface ocean heated by geothermal vents produced as a result of tidal stress (from Tidal Lock to gas giant). The 6,525 km diameter moon orbits its gas giant in about five standard days, and the lunar system makes a full orbit around its parent star in about twenty standard years.
  • Primary Terrain: The surface is an endless 'sea' of flat frozen wasteland without oxygen and bombarded by radiation from the local gas giant, solar flares, and cosmic radiation. Beneath this kilometer thick ice sheet, is a roiling ocean heated by geothermal vents lining the ocean floor

  • Major Locations:
Refugee Cavern Network - The ice surface of the moon originally named Lozeg by its discoverer, known to the Resu as "Exodus", is a kilometer thick ice shell that has made an excellent shelter for the thousands of displaced alien refugees fleeing to this system. A series of subterranean melted ice structures, electronically heated using power collected from radiation farms on the surface, and filled with water distilled with hydrogen collected through molecular separation of water molecules, serve as the temporary homes of the Resu in Exile. With only basic amenities, these caverns serve only as places of rest, privacy, and sometimes rarely - learning - through the use of copies of the few surviving pieces of Resu literature distributed throughout the network. Deeper in the ice, even larger caverns exist filled with fish native to Shikyu, specifically the prey the Resu hunted and managed to bring along with them in their exodus of the Realm of Resu - this prey population is maintained as a communal feeding ground by a piece of Resu technology known as a 'Hatchery' which seems to artificially accelerate growth and maintain populations for some types of plants and animals. To ensure the safety of the residents, this cavern network is moderately protected from ice shifts through the use of strategically placed metal beams implanted into the ice and connected to one another, with sensors systems to give advanced warning to any possible failure regions of the network to evacuate whenever structural integrity is threatened by extreme and torrential stress from an ice shift.
  • The Entrance - A massive operation, and an impressive undertaking by the CybeResu engineers to not only improve the Cavern Network, but to make a singular entrance into the sub-surface ocean strong enough to withstand the shifting plates of ice, just like the ones constructed on their homeworld of Shikyu. Efforts have also been undertaken while the Entrance is being constructed, to massively pump hydrogen into the ocean below in the hopes that one day the Resu will be able to breathe freely in the ocean without the use of machine assistance. A great number of plants have also been grown through the use of artificial Hatchery technology, intended to reform the planet into something that can independently support Resu life forms. As to be expected, the project will likely not see completion for years to come, but small leaps of progress are to be expected as they expand their mining operation of the local gas giant to extract hydrogen from its atmosphere, as well as deeper more valuable materials, such as liquid metallic hydrogen deep beneath the clouds of the gas giant.

POPULATION
  • Native Species: N/a
  • Immigrated Species: The Resu
  • Population: Minimally Populated (~100,000 individuals)
  • Demographics: Virtually all permanent inhabitants are Resu, with no known cases of non-Resu permanent inhabitants
  • Primary Languages: Resune, and broken translated basic when it necessary to speak to outsiders.
  • Culture: Culture: The culture and history of the original Resu is a long, and complicated affair to describe, but the culture that has arrived in Exodus has shifted significantly from those old traditions out of necessity. The Resu species, or what remains of their origins, are refugees and exiles of their own home.

After years faced with genocide by the hands of the Morossian Resu, their subsequent imprisonment and role as mere breeding stock, the terrible spread of an Infertility Plague, and the dreadful experiments which faced them with even more monstrous beings than even the Morossian Resu, the cultural identity of most surviving Resu has been unified into something more cohesive than it has ever been. Family loyalties and grudges have been crossed and overruled by a general utter hatred and fear of annihilation by a clearly superior and dangerous force. Though they might not be a family, every Resu who has escaped the horrors still present in the Realm of Resu has accepted the importance of ensuring the well being of every Resu that is around them, no matter what they had done in the past. In essence, and in the eyes of the Resu, through their Exile they have all been absolved of "sin", out of the necessity to keep themselves from self-destructive conflict.

With so few Resu alive, well, and capable of breeding after new methods of curing their plague have begun to affect the population, the generally monogamous culture of the Resu has radically shifted into an almost exclusively polygamous structure. Indeed, breeding between females has also drastically increased. Unfortunately however, the Resu have been forced to lower all conventional standards of Resu beauty, as breeding partners have been pre-screened and selected for them by their CybeResu caretakers and leadership, to ensure the maximum number of healthy offspring are delivered. Due to this policy, the Resu population has found an equilibrium for the first time since they were threatened with dying off. With some time and more rescue operations into the Realm of Resu, their population may even explode... though the dangers of a genetic bottleneck are possible and feared. Measures are being taken to mitigate this issue, but it may be all for naught in the end; only time can be the judge of that.

Despite the massive increase in the need for breeding, it has been found that the physiological and cultural traditions of cannibalizing newborns that are too slow and abandoning weaker offspring has dramatically increased, offering fewer infantile survivors than existed in the old Shikyun culture. This has been likely caused by a lack of resources to support a massive population increase, as well maintaining a balance to support all broods equally, and keep the community and individual parents from being overwhelmed by offspring. In addition, it may have to do with a heightened paranoia for weakness in their population, following the infertility crisis, and to test the offspring more harshly now ensures only the best possible stock can survive and mitigate the chances of rearing impotent offspring.

Additionally, cybernetic modification has exploded culturally as a necessity. Those who have no hope of finding reproductive partners as a result of the Infertility Plague, are given the choice to be cybernetically modified into a "CybeResu", and serve in a guild depending on their age, service, and skills. The Veteran Resu are expected to join the Navigation Guild given their calmer demeanor and greater life experience coupled with greater knowledge and skills. The unfortunate youth affected by the plague who become the CybeResu, are expected to join the Security Guild. Those who are "cured" of the infertility plague or otherwise deemed fertile, are discouraged from choosing service as a CybeResu, as while not impossible, reproductive activities can be awkward and difficult to accomplish after augmentation. Those who are capable of reproduction, are highly encouraged to stay home and to mate with their pre-selected partners.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Resu Diaspora Protectorate, Resu Navigation Guild (Gov't Organization), CybeResu Security Guild (Gov't Organization)
  • Affiliation: The Kathol Outback/The Outer Rim Coalition
  • Wealth: Low, individual amenities are extremely limited due to a lack of resources escaping from their species near-genocide in the Realm of Resu, and what wealth they do have is vested in the Resu Diaspora Protectorate.
  • Stability: Very High, with a very structured hierarchy and a deeply ingrained tradition of honor and absolute authority, the Protectorate is given by its populace whatever power or measures necessary to ensure the survival of the collective Resu species without emotional consideration for the individual.
  • Freedom & Oppression: While not oppressed by Resu standards, there is a distinct lack of freedom, though this is born more out of necessity than any one individual's desire for absolute control. Breeding partners are pre-selected, and are highly encouraged to remain on-world for the express purpose of breeding with as many partners as possible, anyone who cannot breed is highly encouraged to undergo cybernetic augmentation into CybeResu, to export their services for either security or navigational piloting. All wealth is centralized into the government authority, and all work is intended for strengthening the collective whole of the government entity and its protected populations. These name only a few factors, but to describe it generally, freedom is very low, but by Resu perception, out right oppression is also very low.

MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY

  • Military: As a world colonized by refugees escaping genocide, one can imagine that their capabilities to attack or defend are rather limited. However, these refugees are not ordinary by any means, these are refugees of a warrior race renowned for outstanding territorial aggression totally removed from moral stigma's related to mercy and 'humanity'. Especially those who have undergone cybernetic augmentation to become the now highly reputable "CybeResu", an organization founded by the Resu exile [member="Iron Giant"], who has also founded the present government presiding over the colony on Resu Exodus, using the title "Her Exileship". These elite warriors are physically resistant to a wide range of dangerous and/or hazardous environments, masters of close quarters combat, and are generally resistant to damage with only a minor exception. However, most likely their most impressive military defenses come in the form of the Iron Blade, and the Iron Mother (headquarters of the CybeResu Security Guild, and the Resu Navigation Guild respectively), two highly infamous One Sith Warships that were boarded and vented/removed of all hostiles by only a few dozen individuals each, and then retrofitted into armed mobile homes with advanced technology only the Resu are truly capable of using. Although not a true Navy by any metric, they are still a testament to the strength of the beings that live in the system.

  • Technology: As with their previous civilizations, in many areas, the species does not quite fit terms by outsiders that might deem them as 'primitive' or 'advanced'. Due to their unique and wholly separate development path from most other known sentient species, they have a blend of technologies which ranged from simple melee weapons, to crude interplanetary spacecraft. They do not have such technologies, like projectile launchers or advanced artificial intelligence. However, fleeing from their home system technology has become a limited luxury often commandeered by the Resu Diaspora Protectorate for community use, and some technologies do not apply to their current level of civilization. To break down their 'level of technology', here is a list of things one would typically see within the civilization:
"Tusk Swords" - Essentially metallic extensions of the Resu tusks for increased combat capability. These have been almost exclusively commandeered for use by the CybeResu, most commonly found by members of the CybeResu Security Guild or high ranking members of the Protectorate, such as Her Exileship [member="Iron Giant"].
  • "Speaking Orbs" - Crystal matrices which generate pre-programmed electrical frequency, that literally voice words to the Resu "reader". There is a limited library of ancient Resu literature that has survived the era of the Moross Crusade, that has been recovered, massively copied, and distributed as one of the few basic amenities of the Cavern Network. Blank speaking orbs have also been provide to those who request them, to begin again another era of Resu literature, or to make loose reconstructions of lost literature remembered by some members of the Diaspora.
  • Electrical Field Disruption Mine - Used to scramble Resu natural communication capabilities, and disorientate Resu in the vicinity of these often anchored and floating mines. This technology, while not lost, does not see use on Exodus, and would likely fall under the domain of the CybeResu and the Protectorate for use in liberating more Resu from Ysraka in the Realm of Resu.
  • Thermal Towers - Large obsidian towers built over system of large thermal vents, which act as residential "skyscrapers", utilizing the heat energy of the moons lunar core as a power source. Once again, while the knowledge to create these structures does exist, it does not yet see use on Exodus given their limited supplies and their lack of consistent access to the subsurface ocean floor. It may be many years before Thermal Towers may be constructed.
  • Trauma Foam - An organic substrate utilized to seal open wounds, and act as a medicinal accelerator for any desired chemical injected into the foam. While ordinarily common, given the massive amount of the population which require its use, this resource has been stretched thin and limited to medical practitioners approved by the Protectorate utilizing a triage prioritization system.
  • Fungal Poison - A deadly toxin utilizing fungal compounds to send a Resu into an exhaustive insanity which attacks everything in sight until the body is physically worn to death, at which point spores will sprout out of its head with a chance of infecting others. Antidotes do exist, but each family typically has their own strain to prevent curing the weapon. The use of this weapon has been strictly outlawed, and any found with it executed, considering its use only harms Resu and has little if any effect on Morossian Resu.
  • Crude Interplanetary Spacecraft - Their Resu-designed spacecraft are sub-par and rather primitive compared to the rest of the galaxy, especially since they lack any interstellar capabilities.
  • Retrofitting Rigs - Although their spacecraft technology never ascended above crude interplanetary levels, the Resu (and especially the CybeResu under direction by [member="Iron Giant"]), have become experts at retrofitting nearly any vessel to suit their present needs. The most impressive examples being the Iron Blade, and the Iron Mother, the 'Flagships' of both the CybeResu Security Guild and the Resu Navigation Guild respectively.
  • Hatcheries - Advanced facilities which accelerate the growth patterns of many species for selective breeding processes being tested by the Resu. These were a recent development prior to the Morossian Contact Event, and the populations of Exudos are lucky the CybeResu were capable of recovering a few working models for use in their communal feeding grounds, as well as plant 'biome' production.
  • Metallic Liquid Hydrogen Extraction Factories - Blimps on the surface of a specific gas giant types put down gigantic tethers designed for the atmospheric stress of a massive giant, which then extract the exotic degenerate mater for use in cold fusion reactors and high-functioning computers. The material itself was in the process of being commercially exported out of the system in exchange for other technologies, while the reactors and computers were recent developments not yet established across the civilization. After the Morossian Contact Event, these developments stalled, and did not see much progress since. Though under Underground guidance, this feature will make the system Exodus system a strategic attraction, and if it is ever fully liberated, the Realm of Resu as well.
  • Liquid Metal Hydrogen Technology - The latest advancement in Resu technology, utilizing the liquid metallic form of hydrogen extracted from specific types of gas giants encased in a suspended field of inert pure water, produces a super-conductive circuit highly resistant to ionic damage, electromagnetic discharges, and general tampering. When coupled with a CybeResu's cybernetics in a spacecraft for example, it allows them to control hundreds of ship sub-systems ordinarily requiring dozens of crew members, with near instantaneous intra-ship reaction times. This piece of technology is regularly shown off by the Resu Navigational Guild, as well as [member="Bryce Bantam"] and his company in some lines of his ships recruiting their services in exchange for the Underground's (and the Outer Rim Coalition's) aid in establishing their colony on Lozeg.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

"Lozeg", as it was named by its discoverer, was a moon very similar to the one's the same explorer (and scientist) often frequented. From the rogue world of the Colluctari Nebula, to Shikyu of the Realm of the Resu, Dr. Seggor Nevak has traveled across the galaxy searching for sub-surface ocean life. In fact, little to the galaxies knowledge, the Quarren was one of the only surviving explorers of the Resu system, and also the only one who has actually visited below the ice surface of Colluctari, and studied its exotic wild life... though his current whereabouts since then are off record. Before his disappearance however, he had discovered this system out in the Outer Rim after escaping the perilous fate of the team which discovered the Realm of the Resu. Little information on the system had been divulged, but his readings on the system were handed down to a short-term protege. That information - which included significant traces of tibanna gas in the lower atmosphere just above a "hydrogen mantel" of a gas giant similar to the one found in the Realm of the Resu, as well as an orbiting ice moon which qualities similar to Shikyu, sans known complex life forms - would eventually turn hands for several years before coming into the hands of [member="Bryce Bantam"]'s company. Prior to the rediscovering of the Resu by the Underground, his company had began making plans to develop a facility to extract the tibanna gas for some of their specialized engines.

That was of course, until he helped conduct the exodus of what remained of an entire species from the certain peril of unthinkable plagues and abominations.

The last remaining original Resu, were virtually imprisoned for years by an offshoot species instigated into fruition through the use of an ancient viral force ritual preformed by an Aesir of the Moross Crusade. The culture of the Resu was almost entirely destroyed with their civilization. However, while the monstrosities the Moross Crusade had created out of their former Resu kin, nearly completing their genocide of the original Resu in the Battle of Ysraka, the Morossian Resu quickly discovered their own inability to breed as a result of their transformation. Presented with this problem, they resolved to halt their conversion of the last remaining Resu, and instead allowed the surviving populations of Ysraka to breed, to allow their own population to grow over time as they slowly claimed older Resu as victims to be converted.

Unfortunately, even this form of imprisonment did not last long, as a plague spread across the Ysraka populations, known as the Infertility Plague. Fearing for the continuation of their race, the leader of the Morossian Resu, the "Lord Resu" and First Convert of Moross [member="Stone Hermes"], began drastic experiments with forbidden technology to find some means of rescuing his species from extinction. These imprisoned Resu were at the mercy of their enemies belligerent experimentation, but were saved by two very important factors.

The first factor, was the rise of a schism within the Morossian Resu "hive mind" mentality, in light of the possibility of their own extinction. One side favored loyalty to Stone Hermes, and to continue his experiments to evolve the species once more into a new golden age. The other, vehemently declaredbStone Hermes an outright heretic, denouncing his use of forbidden technology, and favored instead an approach to appease their forbears and find a way to directly cure them instead. Nonetheless, this civil war allowed opportunities they hadn't before, to escape notice, and find a means to begin forming a resistance.

The second factor, was the return of [member="Iron Giant"] - an exile with advanced technical knowledge, who became critically important when a team of escaped Veteran Resu, enlisted her assistance to free her oppressed people. Using her knowledge of galactic technology and Resu biology, she was able to turn herself and her new compatriots into cyborgs, now known as the "CybeResu". They would be more effective at resisting the Morossian Techno-virus, and combating the Morossian Resu directly. They became a guerrilla strike force that frequently freed dozens of Resu individuals at a time, until they had rescued thousands of individuals by the time the Underground of the Kathol Outback had received their call for assistance.

Eventually, with the Morossian Resu Civil War, the rise of the CybeResu, and the assistance of the Underground, the source of the infertility plague had been discovered (and suspected of being deliberate sabotage by an unknown party). The Resu with assistance then created a plan to rid themselves of it. All the while thousands more of imprisoned Resu on Ysraka, were liberated. However, faced with a new unknown threat lurking the waters of Shikyu, and released into Ysraka waters, as well as facing an insurmountable militant regime in the form of, the Theocracy of the First Convert of the Moross Crusade, and with limiting supplies and space, [member="Iron Giant"] as the de facto leader of the CybeResu operation, issued an Exodus assisted by [member="Bryce Bantam"] and his company, to another nearby system with a similar moon to Shikyu - that moon was called "Lozeg", first named by Dr. Nevak.

With limited supplies, limited building parameters, and limited individual space, they had at least fled the horrors still present in the Realm of Resu, and all of its 121 moons of the fallen Imperial Confederacy. They survived genocide by the skin of their teeth, and riding on a few strokes of luck.

Now under [member="Iron Giant"]'s CybeResu leadership, the world now known as "Resu Exodus" belongs to the "Resu Diaspora Protectorate", an organization dedicated to the protection and preservation of Resu culture, anywhere it is present. However, in order to grant their population some sense of purpose without warfare, a guild was formed that would allow them to harness the technical knowledge of their species to not only increase their standing in the galaxy, but also to improve their own state of living through income - selling their services as pilots in ships specially outfitted with their advanced computing technology married to their cybernetics. The Guild would also recruit their youth to form a security force, to harness their natural aggression in ways that are constructive to their new way of life - the life of shipmen and explorers.

Only those who cannot be matched with a mate as a result of the infertility plague, or Veterans seeking purpose are accepted into the Guild, as doing so requires one to become a CybeResu, which sometimes makes breeding a difficulty in particular cases. Those who have been granted the ability to breed, though only with selected partners, are expected to stay on Exodus to rear children, taking on as many partners as needed. Few Resu see this as a shame however, as all know each Resu now plays a role critical to their collective survival, and continuation.

While initially bleak, the Resu future is looking brighter now more than ever, and little to his knowledge, all thanks to Dr. Navak's discoveries.

Do you mean highly encouraged?

Small typo, should be 'but'.

I'm going to need to see a different image source. Instead of a link to the image itself, I'd like to see the page you found it on. There seems to be an error with the link you provided, as it simply takes me to this page instead.

Once that's been dealt with, I think this detailed submission is ready for approval!

Thanks

Unless I missed it, I don't see any mention of the Netherworld Event, 400 years of Darkness or the Gulag Plague. Mention of this will have to be included in the planet's history.

Or was this planet only colonised after those events took place?

[member="Darth Pyrrhus"] Sorry, wasn't in internet contact for a few days. The colonization is all after those events.
