Estate of House Arenais
Munto Valley, Commenor

Despite the past history of trauma and loss concerning House Arenais and the former Monarchy prior to the Presidency of Darlyn Excron Darlyn Excron , Commenor had always held a special place in Caedyn and Loreena Arenais' heart; It would forever be the World they were born and raised upon, the center of House Arenais' foundation and the legacy of the former Commenor Systems Alliance that had made their family what it was today.

The twins parents had been a beacon of neutrality, peace and diplomacy back then and while things had ended so very tragically, mistakes having been made, Caedyn still felt proud of all that his Mother and Father had accomplished. With so many memories and such a wealth of background knowledge surrounding Commenor and his family, such was why Caedyn couldn't resist rebuilding the Estate of House Arenais. Albiet on the opposite side of the Eldritch Mountains from where their former home had stood.

This time, House Arenais would have no sway over the Governance of Commenor. That Era had come and gone and Veiere's agreement with Darlyn Excron was to be honored if Caedyn had any say in the matter. Instead they would enjoy a place of peace and civilian living when visiting. Both Caedyn and his Sister's lives often required them to travel all across the Galaxy for various purposes. Caedyn a member of the Silver Jedi Order and Lori a free-lancer turned rebel within the Eternal Empire's territory of space, they would likely come and go along...

Today however was about coming together and celebrating, remembering the past and honoring those lost. Caedyn Arenais had invited all of the families previous associates and close friends from their parents former lives in the hope of sharing an evening of drinking and socializing, restoring old friendships and making new ones.

To say that Kay was nervous was an understatement. There were many times during her public transport journey from Altiria/Anarris to Commenor that she had wanted to just turn around and go back. It had been years since she had even been near the same system that Commenor lay and she was quite certain that she'd never go there again.

But of course she was wrong. Kay was usually wrong about a lot of things.

Once the transport had arrived, she disembarked, carrying a satchel that was stuffed with spare clothing and a variety of tea and goodies. She was dressed far below her previous status on Commenor. Instead of fancy gowns or dresses, she wore slacks, shirt and coat, all in plain browns and creams not meant to draw anyone's eye at all. She tucked a few strands of her hair behind her ear, which she wore down. In her other hand she clutched onto the strap of her satchel as though it could save her from harm. Kay's grey eyes scanned the crowd on the platform before drifting upwards. The Eldritch mountains lay to the north. That was where she was directed to. Not wanting to stay anywhere long and risk being recognized, she moved quietly past the Commenori and headed out on foot.

It felt like it had been a lifetime ago that Jairdain had lived on Commenor within the Palace walls and had walked the streets of the world. In a way, it was. She still had a home here and did have a few connections to people. A small safe haven to come to if she ever needed to escape. The Jedi did not often run, but always liked to have it as an option if she needed one.

At the moment, her life was on Kashyyyk and she had established a family there. That didn't mean she was going to just blow off or ignore the other people she thought of as family. When the sudden invitation reached her, the former advisor had smiled and felt she should be there.

Leaving her daughters behind, she did feel it right to bring Marcus along. He was the son of Bradshaw and a part of the family. They left Kashyyyk with a few items and headed to Chastin City. Once again, she walked the familiar streets and smiled. She told him more about her time here and the memories she had. There was both sorrow and joy in her as they walked. Eventually, she felt it was wise to actually arrive where they had been invited and hired a taxi to take them there.

In the years that had passed since she had first met the royal family, Jairdain had certainly grown up. She was no longer the Padawan that wanted nothing more than to be a consular and advisor. Now she was mother, wife, and Master for the Silver Jedi. At her hip was an old lightsaber hilt that had rarely seen any action and gone were the traditional robes of the Jedi. Due to her life here, she had taken to wearing nice clothing. Nothing fancy, just items that were well made and tailored to fit her.

All of them had changed over the years and this was to be expected. Nobody ever stayed the same. Arriving on the far side of the mountains, she helped Marcus out of the taxi, paid their fare, and turned to face the new building. It had the familiar air of the old residence, but also held something new. Maybe it was the hopes and dreams of those within.

"Let's not keep them waiting any longer than we already have."

Kyra barreled through the great halls of Caedyn's home, bare foot and wild-haired as she she chased after something large and fluffy. Kyra was not a stranger to wealth, but her home was a heavily populated city, and even her mother did not own such extensive grounds. As the youngest of many siblings, as sense of youthfulness lingered in her mind. She regarded the palace as a playhouse, and was currently treating it so.

"Hey! Come back!" A great beast of a hound went barreling through, parting two servers with trays. Kyra's dress went flowing in the wind as she ran-- a blur of pink and satin teal chasing after her new play thing. Behind her, a smaller and decidedly more adorable pup chased after them both.

"Oops, sorry, 'scuse me," Kyra uttered to the servers, hopping around them as they struggled to regather themselves admist the turmoil. Before a word could be said, the duo darted through a columned exit to the lawns.

The pupper barked, its little legs reeling as it went following out.

Caedyn Arenais grimaced as one of the hired entourage nearly tumbled over thanks to Bruka being chased by his Padawan, Ashla quickly in tow after her. The Jedi Knight couldn't help but grin from ear to ear as he watched Kyra Perl Kyra Perl seemingly having the time of her life whilst they were away from the Temple of the Silver Jedi Order, here within his home and a place of rest and relaxation instead.

The Estate was certainly large, and far more secluded than the previous manor had been. The previous design that had been built by Veiere Arenais instructions, had been more the form of a mansion than anything where as Caedyn's version seemed much more like a military facility embedded within the mountain from the outside looking in. Standing within the interior however it was much more homely, furnished with all one could hope for in a well established and financed family household.

Much to his surprise, his Mother was on her way home. NPC Treasury NPC Treasury hadn't stepped foot on Commenor since her being forced to put the Monarchy aside and Caedyn had expected that he'd need to somehow blindfold and kidnap her in order to get her back on the surface of their homeworld. He could not have been happier to hear the news when she had relayed her intent to be present at the party, the evening of celebration and socializing among friends and allies of their once great House.

Jairdain Jairdain 's arrival was also to be expected, she given access to the Hangar at the base of the Estate if needed, although Caedyn hadn't realized she was traveling via air-taxi. Once upon a time, House Arenais had many associates inside and outside of the Commenori Government and the estate had been built with enough rooms to fit them all, as if they still held that amount of friends. Frankly, Caedyn wasn't so sure they did anymore.

So much had changed in the...-Had it been over a decade since they had retaken Commenor from the Sith Empire?

"I wonder how many actually plan on showing up..." Caedyn thought aloud, glancing down to Chip whom seemed to look back up at him and respond in a series of whistles and beeps.

Marcus Ismet-Ku

Hold on, let me over think this...
Marcus' toons go something like this --

When Jairdain Jairdain reached out to help her blind son, Marcus, out of the taxi, she would find him in an odd state. But, a common one for the quirky scientist. Earbuds in, he had let himself enter an almost trance-like space of rhythmic movement and fluid thought, where time bled together and all notions of the outside world melted away like so much deliciously irrelevant drippy cheese.

A state more commonly referred to as… dancing. The young man was wiggling slightly in his seat, arms gently out in front of his face, fingers moving as if… typing? His head bobbing to the velvety beat only he could hear.

Being blind, and not having been to Commenor since he was a toddler, Bradshaw Ku’s biological son liked to imagine the trip was going to be something of a beach vacation with pretty girls, even though he knew very well it wasn’t. Not that the nerd had ever seen a pretty girl, or anything for that matter. Nor had he ever spoken to a pretty girl, at least not on purpose. His Mom didn’t count, of course.

Though, there was that one Saturday a few months ago on Kashyyyk when he answered the door to get his take-out and a vivaciously curvy female Wookie stood there with his Meiloorun fruit marinated imitation Colo Claw Fish clutched between furry paws. He couldn’t see her, but she sounded cute…so he barely chocked out a hello and then tipped her far too much before almost tripping on his way back to his seat. That went well, he’d thought. Beaming with a smile while slurping down his faux-fish.

Of course, he wasn’t just gyrating next to his mother like a weirdo in the back of a taxi. He looked like he was typing, because while he was moving to the beat, he was also trying to calculate the Hamiltonian parameters of a theoretical quantum Boltzmann machine in his head and he did it by imagining he was typing on a computer. He had almost derived the correct eigenstate value for the quantum mechanical distribution when his mother’s touch shocked him out of his meditation.

“Darn…” he whispered under his breath. “Almost had it…”

Then, removing his earbuds and taking her hand to slide out of the taxi, he commented to her, “I guess that means we’re here then.” It was a rhetorical non-question, of course, even his biological father – wherever he was – could’ve deduced where they were without sight.

“Lets not keep them waiting any longer than we already have.” His mother suggested.

“Uuh… Yeah. So, do we know who’s coming?” he asked anxiously. A tiny part of him, buried deep since he was very young, hoped beyond hope Bradshaw would show up, but the more rational part of him understood that was never going to happen. Even more than that, though, he was nervous to “see” everyone again. It had been so very long. He didn’t know what to say, and hoped he didn’t end up embarrassing himself.

Commenor, huh? Starchaser nodded to himself. The fact that they had moved to the world was not too much of a surprise, but it meant good things for the Silver Jedi. He had felt they had gone stagnant, willing to hold themselves in the treetops of Kashyyyk and let the galaxy adjust around them, an immoveable object against an unstoppable force. He respected them for that, but if he was going to start calling their space home, he needed to live somewhere that wasn’t just trees and younglings. And the fact that Kaia had helped move him and Celeste Rigel Celeste Rigel to the new capitol of the Silvers? That just seemed super helpful. Sure, Coren would forever call Corellia, Dawn Treader and the planet of Sullust home before Commenor, but it was a new thing. He could roll with it.

First things were first, though, he had made sure Celeste was fine, and let her know where he was going. If she felt up to it, she could call for a cab and meet him, and he had his own speeder bike, and commlink in case… that explosion was supposed to happen. Before he left, he made sure to kiss her good bye before heading off, more in a Jedi tunic than a spacer’s outfit. He was planetside and he was assuming he’d run into Caedyn and some others, so he had to look… official?

Upon arrival and parking his speeder, he looked around as he entered the home, not really waiting for an invite, because if Caedyn was anything like his father, he’d be welcome here. And if Caedyn was truly teaching his daughter, well, they had a bit to catch up on. On Coren’s right hip was his telescopic lightsaber pike, and on the other hip was a very familiar, cross-guard lightsaber that one Kyra Perl Kyra Perl had attempted to swipe. He figured, just for kicks, he’d bring it here.

Making a bee line to find Caedyn before he was stopped, the Jedi Master bowed. “Knight Arenais, how are you doing?” He said, trying to sound formal as he approached, obviously failing and smirking.

Caedyn Arenais

Kay looked up overhead as others seemed to be heading in the same direction that she was going. The speederbike that Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser drove zoomed past her and for a moment she thought back on her glory days of whipping through the Twin Canyons on her own speederbike. That used to be her stress relief. She'd fly through the natural maze and come out along the beach. Such rides always brought her a lot of joy. That is until Prazutis first came to Commenor. The Twin Canyons was where he first caught her. And everything went downhill from there.

She gripped a little tighter to her satchel's strap as she walked onwards towards the new Estate. Being back on Commenor felt so strange. And it hurt inside. Amongst the joy there was so much pain as well. Slowly Kay walked, her brows furrowed in concentration while her head hung low as she imagined the voices of the Commenori shouting at her, hurling insults for the atrocities that were all her fault; Munto City being one of them. Over eight million Commenori lives were snuffed out in a second by the Sith, and all because she was stubborn and didn't surrender as soon as she should have. If she had the chance, Kay was certain that she'd of never let any of this happen. It all started when she ran for President, she was sure of it. Not putting herself in a position of power would have spared everyone, including herself. There would never of been a target on her back. Munto City and all of it's citizens would still have existed.

It took another few hours before Kay arrived at the new Arenais Estate that Caedyn Arenais had built. The home was certainly different from the one Veiere had made. It lacked the Commenori architecture that she knew and loved.

She stood there, standing at the doorway with her hand placed on top of the doorhandle, not yet ready to open it and step inside. A big part of her wanted to run away. But she owed it to her son to be there for....whatever it was that he invited her there for.

She had no idea just how full of a house it would be.

Friends and Family were both starting to arrive, and to Caedyn's relief it wouldn't be a disappointing turn out. His Padawan Kyra Perl Kyra Perl seemed to be heavily distracted by the Dog's, while Caedyn greeted those first to show up.

The first were Jairdain Jairdain and her Son, Marcus Ismet-Ku Marcus Ismet-Ku . Caedyn hadn't realized how much time had passed since he had last seen his Nephew, the Son of Bradshaw Ku. Frankly it was rather astounding. "Welcome Jair'" He smiled to Jairdain greeting her with a hug. She had worked alongside his Mother for years during the leadership of Commenor, well and truly become a family figure to House Arenais in those days and every day since. "Marcus, it's good to see you after so long...-Now I'm really feeling my age" he grinned; "Please go in and make yourselves at home, you both will always have a place with the Family" he encouraged them.

The next to arrive was Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser , whom Caedyn had invited for a number of reasons aside from the fact that his Father considered the man among his most trusted and closest friends and allies within the collective Jedi Order across the Galaxy. Most recently, he had also been the subject of conversation between Caedyn and Kyra Perl, for as it happened, Coren Starchaser was the Girl's Father. "Please, call me Caedyn, Master" the Jedi Knight responded with a wary smile, "It's good to see you again after so long. Seems I missed you in the Outer Rim Territories" he said. Coren and Caedyn both shared a great deal of experience having dedicated themselves to the safe guarding of the Rim at various stages of their lives, and it was a factor in common that Caedyn held in high appreciation.

In no small amount of astonishment, Caedyn glanced passed Coren at the movement of another, his eyes landing upon his Mother NPC Treasury NPC Treasury herself whom had avoided returning to Commenor ever since the dissolution of the Monarchy and House Arenais' reign. "Mom?!" He exclaimed, his surprise coming out thick in his voice as he moved to wrap his arms around her in a tight and affectionate embrace; "I can't believe you're actually here" he beamed a toothy smile at her, "Jairdain and Marcus are here too...-And I'm hoping others will turn up..." his grin was from ear to ear, Kay's arrival a monumental surprise though the others might likely not be able to appreciate the gravity if it as much as he did.

Looking back to Coren, he would take his Mother's hand as if she might suddenly change her mind; "Please come in both of you...-There's plenty to eat and drink. This place is House Arenais new home on Commenor. Finally...-Once again" he smirked. Caedyn seemingly pleased with himself. "A place of sanctuary for friends and family both".

Probably the last time Marcus had been on Commenor was when he was a toddler. It had been the first time he met his grandmother. The two of them had stayed on this world for a few years before Jairdain had once again returned to the Silver Jedi. Of course, she took her son with her and had started a family of her own. He had been taken in and Yuoric treated him like his own children and that was enough for her.

Most of his life had been spent on Kashyyyk and he seemed to have accepted that. What went on in his mind, she didn't even want to understand most of the time. Right now, though, she needed his attention on the present and not wherever it was.

Listening to his question, she shook her head. Marcus might not have as much skill within the Force as his mother, but he had enough to know what she did. He was her son, after all.

"Hopefully more than just us."

Attempting to calm down his nerves, he would feel the serene aura of his parent and she gave him a smile of support.

Her would have been nephew opened the door for them and gave her a hug. Returning that, she felt just how much the boy had grown up. Raising an eyebrow, she chuckled a little at his humor.

"You're feeling your age? Now that is funny."

Another person arrived then and she stepped inside at the open invitation from Caedyn to make themselves comfortable. Turning when she heard him say, mom, she smiled. Sending out through the Force, she could feel Lady Kay's apprehension. Support, acceptance, and something akin to love would hopefully touch Kay and reinforce her resolve.

"Thank you for inviting us and for giving us the opportunity to reunite, Caedyn. I have very much missed being on Commenor all the time."

Marcus Ismet-Ku

Hold on, let me over think this...
The anxious teen felt his mother’s soothing, calming presence emanate through the Force. It allowed him to breath more easily and relax. He was often too high strung and anxious.

Maybe it was from being born blind and never quite knowing what was going on around him. He always imagined people making faces at him, or rolling their eyes. Maybe it was just his overactive brain, which was constantly grasping for new information. Searching for something to think about, whether it was positive or negative. Whatever it was, the teen’s – and he was still a teen, even if he was also technically an adult – nerves were often alight. So, it’s not surprising at all that his Mother, empathic and highly attuned to the force and to him, always knew when and how to sooth him.

“Thanks Mom…” he whispered to her out of the corner of his mouth just before the door swung open. Some might call him a mama’s boy and maybe he was, he didn’t know, but it didn’t matter. He couldn’t help it that he had a cool mom…

“Marcus, it’s good to see you after so long…-Now I’m really feeling my age.” Caedyn Arenais greeted with a grin.

Marcus’ face lit-up with a beaming, genuine smile when he heard his uncle’s voice. Throughout his relatively short life he hadn’t had much of chance to spend time with his biological father’s side of the family. Nevertheless, he always enjoyed all the chances he did get to be with them.

Not to mention the nearly creep level of holonet-stalking he used, augmented by advanced net-crawler algorithms and AI assistants, to keep tabs on most of them. To be fair, he used that method to keep tabs on most of the galaxy, or at least the parts of the galaxy that interested him. Besides, it wasn’t like he was putting cameras in their houses or something. It was all publicly available information. Just, more systematized and categorized.

“Heh, wish I could say the same…-“he blurted out, before doubling back, “Err, I mean, the seeing part… not the, you know, being happy to be here part… That is to say, which is what I should’ve said from the beginning, is… it’s good to see you too Uncle.” His smile briefly melting from embarrassment. Great, he chastised himself, I’ve been here a whole two seconds before managing to make a fool of myself, it’s a new personal best.

It wasn’t long before someone else arrived, and though he wasn’t nearly as sensitive to the Force as his mother, he could feel his mother reaching out toward the new arrival. It was a woman, he could tell that much at least. Not so much because of the Force, but because he had ears. And then a strong, distant, but familiar feeling came over him and he knew instantly.

With some surprise, because he knew she never came to Commenor, he nudged his Mom excitedly, “It’s Gramma!”

Outside, he heard the joyous laughs of a child accompanied with playful barks. Who could that be? Caedyn didn’t have a kid, he thought, and then remembered. But he does have a padawan!

Celeste was ensconced in something of a pillow fort as she tried to get comfortable. She'd planned to stay in and rest while Coren went to visit House Arenais, but as she shifted this way and that, she started to have second thoughts. If she was going to spend the afternoon awake, she might as well be on her feet, too.

Pushing herself out of bed, she slipped on a floral-patterned maternity dress, and put on some makeup (for the first time in weeks). She waddled out the door, hailed a cab, and went on her way. She gave Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser a quick buzz to let him know to expect her, mostly so he could come fetch her when she arrived.

She gazed out the window as she rode, taking in the sights of Commenor—the new home of the Silver Jedi. And she supposed, her new home as well., Kaia had been very kind to get things set up for them ahead of time. She would really miss the jungle world of Kashyyyk, and thoughts of leaving Silver Rest behind hit her with a pang of sorrow. The city was lovely, but it was... different. It would take some time to get accustomed to life here. And while change was tough, she knew that sometimes it was for the best.

Celeste knew that Kyra Perl Kyra Perl would likely be at House Arenais as well.

Of course, learning that her husband had a teenage child had come as a surprise. However, Celeste was more than willing to meet Kyra and accept her into the family—if that's what she wanted. But she'd take it slow, there was no need to overwhelm the girl. After all, Kyra likely needed some time to adjust to this news herself.

Yes, a simple introduction may be a good first step.

When the cab pulled up at her destination, she heard voices and waited outside for a moment or two before entering. She didn't want to intrude upon the greetings.

If there was any chance to escape what could be an awkward situation, Kay had lost it the minute that Caedyn Arenais had spotted her. Right away he had pulled her into a tight hug and she couldn't help but return it, swallowing back her emotions. "I came for you..." Her heart sank a little. Would Veiere had given her the same kind of welcome if she had suddenly shown up on his doorstep? She'd never know that now. His death took a part of her with it. Kay had gone through this before; and it had taken her ten years to recover. Though she was certain there'd be no recovery this time.

"You've built a nice home. Is there some place where I can go to put my things and freshen up?" And hide. She wanted to hide a bit in case her emotions got the better of her, especially with all these people.

The sight of Jairdain Jairdain came as a surprise, though really she didn't know who else her son had invited. Kay gave her a small smile as she recalled the good old days. It made her wonder how many remained on Commenor at all.

Gramma?

How many years had it been since she was called that? Well now she felt really old, as though she needed a cane or some old walker to support herself. "My how you've grown...It's good to see you." So many lives continued on, flourishing even. Marcus Ismet-Ku Marcus Ismet-Ku was becoming a man, and although he still kept close with his mother, Kay knew that it was only a matter of time before he found his own way in the Galaxy too.

She waited quietly to be told where to go next, her hand gripping the strap of her satchel as though that alone could help her from wanting to hide away.

A storied family, is what the Arenais were, storied in the galaxy from all sides. His own family, or clan, Starchaser, were off of Corellia, and he had been doing most of the work in the recent years. It wasn’t a competition, but just a statement. As he looked around, he noticed everyone a few others entering, and was curious as to who most were. He knew them in passing, from their stories, Kay, Jairdain, those were ones he easily recognized as who they were. Listened to Caedyn with a growing bit of interest.

“I’ve just been… away from my post there. Seems the Force has called me closer to Commenor, for the time being.” It wasn’t a bad thing, Coren was always used to being int eh active parts of the galaxy, he had just taken care to remain on the Rim recently. But now, now since he returned? Something had changed, and he was hoping to find out what it was. He could already sense Kyra Perl Kyra Perl was running around, but he felt another presence coming and had stepped aside.

NPC Treasury NPC Treasury was someone he had seen, and interacted with a few times, especially during his stint with the Alliance in Exile and the OPA. It would be interesting to see what she was up to, wasn’t she in charge of some Empire or another now?

“I appreciate your welcome, Caedyn, I know my wife, Master Rigel will be here soon.” He just had a feeling she wouldn’t stay away. As he was thinking that, he felt a call, and nodded. “I’ll be right back in.” He made his way outside, seeing the cab dropping off Celeste Rigel Celeste Rigel , he greeted her with a smile. “Couldn’t stay away from me, could you?” He laughed.

Out in on the far side of the yard, half nestled into the mountains the house was built into, a flash of red hair could be seen riding atop a hell hound. Was it prudent for a girl nearing her age to be treating a dog like a horse? No. Was it fun? Yes. Kyra bubbled with yallops and laughter, small enough to get away with her mischief as she force-floated a piece of party food before the hound as bait.

So much funner than adults in heels. So much.

The small pup, far too slow with its short little legs, peeled off its pointless chase of the two and bounded eagerly over to Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser and Celeste Rigel Celeste Rigel , Finally. Attention that stood still.

Caedyn Arenais wasn't exactly the type to play a good host, so with everyone arriving he found himself just a little flustered. Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser however excused himself as his wife Celeste Rigel Celeste Rigel arrived and from where Caedyn stood beside his Mother NPC Treasury NPC Treasury , he could hear the barks of Bruka and Ashla playing outside with his Padawan Kyra Perl Kyra Perl .

"Well then..." Caedyn turned to look to Kay with a bit of a sheepish grin, "You chose a busy time to return home huh Mom" he mused, leading her inside and into the large open floor where Jairdain Jairdain and Marcus Ismet-Ku Marcus Ismet-Ku had moved to. The Living Room, Lounge and Kitchen were all sections of the vast open floor and the transparisteel windows gave a wide open view of Munto Valley, albeit somewhat difficult to enjoy as night was quickly approaching them.

"Chip will take you downstairs Mom" he first replied to Kay's wanting somewhere to freshen up, "You and Lori have your own rooms, although nothing was salvageable from the old place so...-I did my best to get what you both might need" There were quite a number of rooms down in the living quarters of the second floor below them, dorms for guests and rooms specifically for the members of their Household, House Arenais.

"If anyone drinks too much or decides they don't feel like heading back home tonight, there's room enough here for all of you" He reiterated this time looking to Marcus and his Mother, Jairdain with a warm smile, happy to finally see life return to their sense of Family again.

Celeste placed a hand at the small of her back as she walked up. She might have rolled her eyes at Coren's remark, but she had a good-natured laugh as she joined him.

“I guess not,” she said, greeting her husband with a kiss on the cheek. And she took his arm for the extra support. Celeste took in the lovely estate, but she paused at the sound of wild laughter in the distance. And then, a few moments later, a little pup came out to welcome them.

“Oh, who's this?” she asked, looking down fondly at the puppy. “Where did you come from?” she asked him, and then stepped over to peer across the yard. Craning her neck, she could scarcely make out a girl... riding a rather large dog. Celeste blinked and looked to Coren... she already knew.

“Is that...” she indicated the girl. “Who I think it is?”

Social graces were rather lacking in her son and that was Jairdain's fault. After Commenor had fallen, she had moved to Kashyyyk and taken Marcus with her. There he had earned his own sense of freedom and went down a path she couldn't follow. She would have to maybe introduce him to being more social and not into his studies quite so much when they got back. At the moment, she would let him enjoy the reunion with his family.

When he blurted out that his grandmother had come, she nodded. The support she had for the two of them had never wavered or let up. It was the same, but also quite different. Marcus was her son and so she felt love for him. What she had for Kay was also love, but it carried more respect. Either way, she returned the smile Kay gave them and observed the exchange between her son and his grandmother.

Not quite ready to just abandon things, in a way she wanted to just go away and hide again. There were so many memories from this world. Most of them were pleasant and happy, but there was also a great amount of pain. Throughout her life, Jairdain had always had a difficult time letting go of the past. Commenor was just another part of that past and she wanted to leave it there.

While she was left alone with her thoughts, more people had started to arrive and when she came out of her reverie and back into the present, she knew there was no escape. Attempting to hide the sorrow she was feeling, it had no place in this reunion.

As he made his way outside, he was able to see his wife and he smiled at her. Making his way past NPC Treasury NPC Treasury and Caedyn Arenais, with as much respect as he could by excusing himself. As Celeste kissed his cheek, he smiled and hugged her, rubbing her back. It was good to have her here, especially since Kyra Perl Kyra Perl had been here as well. He wasn’t sure she’d be here, but there she was. It was a good thing, to be honest. And when Celeste questioned if it was her, he nodded.

They had a few minutes to speak about the topic, and he was thankful that his wife was understanding. Turning at Celeste’s indication, a small pup ran in their direction, and following the pup was none other than Kyra. Looking between the Perl and Celeste, he nodded. “Yeah, that’s the one…” He was chewing the inside of his lip, curious as to how Celeste was going to take it, or how Kyra was going to take that there was a family separate from her for him.

She had to have done her research right? But hell, he wasn't sure Kyra had even accepted him yet.
