Return To Nycteria: Prelude
OOC Info: - This thread takes place on the planet of Nycteria. Your character will have no knowledge of the nature of the planet but you are encouraged to read the planet sub before joining the RP. (http://starwarsrp.net/topic/110975-dead-planet-contest-nycteria-the-whispering-planet/)
- When you land on the planet, what you do and what happens to you is at your own discretion, especially if you split off from the main group. But, if you're going to trigger a massive, thread changing event, please message me first so I can see if its appropriate (this is to help keep Nycteria the way I'd like it)
- All characters will start on The Cloudburst I (my ship) or on their own ship acting as an escort.
- The Sanity Meter is a feature unique to this thread and is included because of The Noise, which envelops Nycteria. It works like this:
- [IIIIIIIIIIIIIII] This is your Sanity Meter, it currently shows that you are in perfect mental health, characters with a less balanced mental state will start with a lower Sanity Bar
- [IIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Mid level sanity, If your mental state is around 50% you will hear whispering, and The Noise will make it difficult to concentrate at times. At this level The Noise feels like it's all around you.
- [IIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Low level sanity, if your mental state dips below 25% of the bar you will experience audiovisual hallucinations, The Noise becomes unbearable, and dulls your senses. Even simple tasks like locking doors, and remembering what happened a few minutes ago become nearly impossible.
- [IIIIIIIIIIIIIII] Critical sanity, you are consumed by The Noise, unable to move or speak, you will soon die.
- Your sanity will decrease as you spend more time on the surface, if you go outside for more than a few minutes, or if you experience psychological trauma. It is up to you what sanity you start with, choose wisely.
- This thread is to gather interest for the main RP, those who express interest here will be tagged when the fun begins
- OPTIONAL Along with the expression of interest, you can post below in character about your character recieving the offer, answering it, or preparing to leave.

Briefing:
Good Evening. My name is Stephanie Ziegler, I am writing to you as a representative of a number of scientific communities on Naboo and in other worlds. With the help of The Unity Foundation they have supplied funding for an exciting exploration mission!
A little over a year ago, a previously undocumented planet was discovered in the unknown regions, shrouded by a planetary nebula. Our early observations of the planet showed it to be a very promising world for a new colony, and 6 months ago a small fleet of ships set out to make that a reality, The planet is known as Nycteria, named so for its dark ice.
However, one month ago we lost contact with the base on Nycteria, and we've been unable to get through to the base. This is likely a communication problem.
Now we come to my reason for writing to you. To properly assess the situation our ship The Cloudburst I will be sent. I assure you, the ship is a technological marvel, and perfectly suited to this kind of planetary analysis, but it is entirely unarmed.
We require hardened adventurers with serious mettle for this mission. Our offer to you is the opportunity to pick a small group to join the ship's security force for the mission. This job is entirely above board, you wont get in any trouble, and you'll be paid handsomely.
