Amnell de Portiers
The Girl With An Expiration Date
Ord Mantell - An Open Market
For her Ord Mantell was a place to rest for a bit before she'd be moving on, likely back to the core for medical treatment. That was a neverending part of her life, one that couldn't be ignored or avoided. Though she sure as hell tried to keep it hidden from the outside galaxy. Her condition wasn't something she wanted anyone to know about. She didn't want the pity or their treatment of hers to change in the least. So she had gotten good at keeping people at arm's length.
The planet was to be something of a refuge world for her, for a little while anyway. Sure it had its criminal elements that were more prominent than other worlds, but it was for the time being far away from the wars and sparing of other governmental powers. The kind of things Amnell wanted to avoid these days. She'd had enough of that in her life. Between what happened with the Netherworld, and that weirdness, she'd been on the forefront of far too many battles during that; Duro, Vandelhelm, Sullust, Eriadu, and Naboo to name a few.
After? Well, that was a longer story. There had been one kidnapping attempt which resulted in; three force users were playing with lightsabers trying to kill one another, one sniper who shot the barkeep and crippled her personal droid. One mysterious woman was trying to take Amnell by force from the bar. Someone decided calling the cops was an excellent idea and would help the situation. For the record, it did not. And if that wasn't enough the bar burned to the ground before all was said and done.
It was the kind of thing that only the likes Micheal Bay could dream up. Except, unfortunately, it had been Amnell's reality. Of course, then there was the confusing actual kidnapping that she still occasionally wondered about, some elements of it were so strange it was hard to wrap her mind around it all.
Her life did calm down a little after that. She'd inherited a company, with an untold amount of research that it did into her particular disease, not that it offered her too many more options, at least not yet anyway. And there was a ball, where she'd run into a certain Jedi, though she barely remembered it. One who she had no idea she'd run into again before the day was over.
With a soft sigh, Amnell wandered from stall to stall in the market looking for supplies she needed and items she wanted for her journey further into the core. If only she knew what this day was going to bring her, she might have made different decisions about what she was doing and where she was. But everything happens for a reason, right?
