Intent: To provide a modern version of the Discord Missile for the Directorate and its allies
Development Thread: If necessary
Manufacturer: Lucerne Labs
Model: Revirement-class Missile
Affiliation: Directorate, Closed Market
Modularity: None
Production: Mass-Produced
Material: plasteel fuselage, durasteel nose cap,Thermal Gel filling, standard warhead components
Classification: Ship to Ship Warhead
Size: Ship-Mounted
Length: 7 meters
Weight: 3 tons
Ammunition Type: H-1ME Battle Mechanic droids
Ammunition Capacity: 20 droids per warhead
Effective Range: Short Capital Ship Range
Rate of Fire: Single

Strengths:

Fast: The Revirement uses an exceptionally fast ion engine optimized for speed over range. This makes the warhead faster than many of its contemporaries.

Adaptable: The Revirement's payload of droids makes it fairly adaptable in use. The same droids that could be repairing a friendly ship can alternately be used to disassemble components of an enemy ship.

Weaknesses:

Short-Range: Because the engine is optimized for speed, the Revirement has a shorter range than many of its contemporaries.

Slow Damage Over Time: A Revirement isn't a weapon of brute force that can be used to quickly in a decisive action. In optimal conditions, it takes significantly more time to equivalent amounts of damage compared to a normal warhead.

Description: Inspired by CIS's old Discord Missiles, Lucerne Labs crafted a similar device based on the rough chassis of the Firelance-class Torpedo. But rather than focus on the deleterious effects of spaceborne droids, Lucerne Labs wanted their product to also be capable of helping friendly craft. To that end, they opted to use the robust and more flexible H-1ME battle mechanic droid for their payload rather than the classic Pistokea sabotage droid. The resulting missile is equally capable of helping repair friendly ships as it is capable of sabotaging enemy systems.

The chassis of the Revirement, being based on the Firelance, is fairly unremarkable. It's bulbous form is covered in plasteel plating and topped by a solid durasteel nose cap that provides some defense to its contents from anti-missile weaponry. The inside of the warhead is filled with twenty H-1ME Battle Mechanic droids suspended in Thermal Gel, which protects the payload during potential impacts and helps to mitigate any damage to the droids during travel. The Revirement uses the same sensors and guidance systems as the Firelance. Around the nose are a series of electro photoreceptors and targeting lasers, which act as part of the warhead's guidance system. Typically warheads are programmed with an image recognition of a specific place on the target vessel before they are fired, but they can also by guided by operators from the host vessel, which can "fly" the warhead to the target if the communication's link isn't disrupted by jamming or other phenomena.

As the Revirement nears its target, a small, focused explosive charge at the rear of the warhead explodes. This has the effect of spreading out the gel-covered droids in a cone-shaped area of effect that will see the droids make contact with their target hull. The thermal gel consequently serves not only to minimize damage from the warhead's own explosive, but also to help the droids survive contact with the ship. The gel absorbs not only much of the physical shock of the contact, but also provides the heat dispersion properties necessary to successfully penetrate through shields in the same way as the heat dissipating alloys of the pistoeka sabotage droids. Once on the hull of the ship, the H-1MEs use their magnetic feet to scurry around the hull to either patch things up, or to start taking them apart. Friendly craft often coordinate their newly arrived allies's activity with their own internal repair crews to maximize effectiveness. Conversely, the droids usually maintain communication silence while on enemy ships as they seek to quietly sabotage the enemy vessel. Like its base warhead, because of the Revirement's large size, (roughly twice the size of the average concussion missile), the Revirement requires either a specialized launcher to use or a larger general purpose warhead launcher, such as the LLT-18 Harpoon-class General Purpose Warhead Launcher.
