There are rules very strictly governing how Major Faction Ownership is attained. There is a vetting process for a Major Faction Owner to be placed into their position, by the SWRP Staff Team. There is a requirement for Major Faction Owners to be voted in again by popular majority vote (>=51%) when a Major Faction Owner steps down.
However, this rule is a step too far.
I understand its origin, it's meant as a safety net to prevent Major Faction Owner abuse. However, there are safety nets already in place - if the SWRP Staff Team suspects foul play, they can simply deny the request to go Minor. This ruling stifles a Major Faction Owner's freedom of choice and creates an arbitrary bottleneck, whereas I would argue that the Major Faction Owner is given a mandate once they are approved and vetted and abide by the Major Faction Owner COC.
So long as they are not in violation of the Major Faction Owner Code Of Conduct, I do not believe this rule should exist, nor should the SWRP Staff Team ever need this rule to perform its duties.
Faction inactivity checks are too infrequent and too generic to ever solve the problems the community faces that the MFOs can solve.
Restore freedom to the Major Faction Owners and empower them to perform as they see fit.
You require the majority vote.
The vote gives them a mandate of authority to govern their micro-communities.
Let them execute that mandate uninhibited by arbitrary doorstops.
2. A Major Faction Owner intending to go Minor is required to hold a majority decision vote with their Faction. If the vote is successful, the Major Faction is subject to the rules for Major Faction Recalls.
