- Strong versus any kind of armour.
- Very long range.
- Long cool down on highest charge mode.
- A high recoil requires the weapon to be mounted on a strong chassis.
- Its weight and size are additionally requiring it to be mounted on strong enough vehicles or machines, as infantry is incapable of carrying or using it.
After the Csilla campaing and the encounter with the war engines of the Tech-War Hosts of Vandemar, the engineers of the Rim-Guard Order were tasked with developing weapons to be carried by a heavy-tank-grade wardroid. The result was the development of a set of weaponry together with the Dreadnought Wardroid.
The Tempest Turbolaser was the response to the necessarity to overcome super heavy enemy tanks or fortifications as well as shields. Its possibility to supercharge made it able to unleash such a powerful burst of energy, that it could melt the strongest of steels or overcharge strong planetary deployed shields. Additionally it could unleash its powercell in the normal fire mode, which gave it a moderate rate of fire with still a high damage output or the possibility to burst in rapid fire, decreasing the damage but giving it a high rate of fire.
