OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a trainer for Varik Ice, his royal guard, and potentially also pass that training down to other aspects of the Sovereignty.
  • Role: Varik Ice's Martial Arts Trainer
  • Links: Teras Kasi | Baran Do Sages
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: 55
  • Force Sensitivity: Apprentice/Padawan
  • Species: Kel Dor
  • Appearance: This Kel Dor has dark-ish, orange skin and is often seen wearing a breath mask and protective eyewear to deal with more common atmospheres. He is clearly aged, even for non-Kel Dor that look at him and he is almost always wearing quite loose robes that cover his figure, adorned with patterns and designs that are reminiscent of Kel Dor art on Dorin.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Rha Vun
  • Loyalties: Varik Ice, The Sovereignty
  • Wealth: Rha Vun lives a relatively modest, yet comfortable lifestyle thanks to the payment he gets for his service to the Sovereignty as a trainer and advisor.
  • Notable Possessions: Baran Do Wooden Staff, Martial Arts Training Equipment
Skills:
  • Master Martial Artist
  • Skilled Staff User
  • Novice Force Sense
  • Resistance to Mind Trick
  • Personality: Rha has been described as somewhat cranky by many, especially his grandchildren. He has a sarcastic manner to him and tends to dispense knowledge to people whenever he can, usually through old Kel Dor sayings; though he'll often claim something as a Kel Dor saying when it obviously is not.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: Martial Arts, or a Wooden Staff.
  • Combat Function: Rha is a talented and experienced martial artist and combatant, with many years as a fighter under his belt. Being trained in the arts that he is, he is very skilled at predicting an enemy's movement and countering it before following up with devastating counter strikes. He is particularly useful at fighting force-users, as his martial arts training and odd form makes him difficult to predict, and he is most dangerous in close quarters. However, his age has begun to get the better of him, and Rha is significantly slower and weaker than he used to be. Old injuries still dog him, including a leg injury that can easily be taken advantage of. For these reasons, Rha generally avoids combat and sticks to training, especially since he is useless with ranged weapons, which many use nowadays.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Born on Dorin long ago, Rha was discovered to be force-sensitive at a young age, and thanks to the centuries of darkness and lack of communication that had swept over the galaxy, his parents decided to trust him with the Baran Do Sages. Though Rha enjoyed the martial arts and the teaching he received to help center himself, he had a lack of talent for the force; he was very weak within it, and he was frustrated at his own lack of progress compared to some of the more talented students among his compatriots.

Eventually becoming tired of that life, Rha ran away from his life as a Sage and on Dorin entirely, fleeing the system on a stolen ship and heading wherever adventure could take him. He became more of a ne'er do well, who did terrible with a blaster but was highly useful in a bar fight. More and more, his rebellious behaviour became worse. Eventually, at one such bar fight he picked a scrap with the wrong Ithorian, who had him floored in seconds. Being able to see his movements were trained, Rha was desperate to learn.

Learning Teras Kasi from the Ithorian, Rha spent years practicing it and living as a labourer, eventually making a family of his own and reconciling with not only the Sages, but his own parents. Rha became more centered and focused on his martial arts, enjoying them far more than any training he ever received with the force. As the galaxy moved on, Rha's family grew up and his children moved on, to some of the systems closer to the core.

The Battle of Thyferra was what truly concerned Rha and his family. Seeing the danger in staying in a nation torn by war, all of Rha's family agreed to flee to Wild Space. Being part of the original settlers who would become citizens of the Sovereignty, the ageing Kel Dor offered his services as a Martial Artist in return for his family being taken care of, at least until they could find their role in the nation and become full citizens themselves.
